I - Woody Floral definitely lives up to its name of being a floral, however unfortunately lacks the woody aspect. It opens initially very bright, fresh and invigorating as clean citruses of bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit combine with pink and black pepper. From here the scent becomes dominated by an accord of red berries which are intensely juicy and fruity. The pink pepper and red berries take charge throughout the life of the scent, with gentle touches of rose and jasmine. In the base there is claimed to be patchouli, vanilla, oud and vetiver, however these are not present in the slightest unfortunately. The rose in here reminds me of L - Floral Chypre, which uses the same thick, sweet, almost candied rose accord. Woody Floral is a pleasant and enjoyable fragrance to wear if you like red berries and rose, however I feel it lacks depth and development. It doesn’t warrant the high price tag and leaves you wanting more, personally I would choose Floral Chypre instead.

It took times to review this perfume for these reasons: - I have tried earlier older formula and it was SO amazing. This is as well but I wish I never smelled the old one. - I was waiting if this will change after letting it sit for a while but it didn’t yet. I was waiting for some depth from the old formula. Maybe after one year or so. Yet, this is one of the best vanillas. What do I love the most in it, is the natural Vanilla smell which is not too sweet even if I think there is Beeswax as well. Secondly I love that heavenly smoky cloud from burnt woods over Vanilla. It’s gorgeous. Some may find this a little bit powdery as well. An older formula was mysterious and darker but this one is more linear and bright with it’s somewhat simple clean musky base. Un Bois Vanille is a mature Vanilla, not girly juvenile stuff which you can’t take seriously. This works even with a suit, especially creamy white or light beige colors. It matches with the softest Cashmere jumper hugging you in the chilly autumn evening. Serge Lutens only mentions Mexican black Vanilla, Sandalwood and Liquorice in their site and they never offer “a full list of notes”. Coconut, Almond, Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Musk and Guaiac Wood pop out in many sources and it all make sense but honestly I don’t detect any of those separately. Rock Rose is a fragrance that had so much promise, but unfortunately fell flat. It opens with a messy concoction of assorted citrus fruits, namely bergamot, grapefruit, orange as well as apple. This is accompanied by green, soapy aromatics of spearmint, lavender and clary sage. Other than this, there are no other prominent notes in the composition, and the overall perfume you’re left with is very disappointing. As others have said, this has a very strong similarity to Mont Blanc Legend in that it’s a very typical fresh, bubblegum, shower-gel type of scent with only marginally higher quality. For a fragrance that costs almost £500 for 50ml, you would expect fantastic creativity and quality - and while Clive Christian usually puts out brilliant creations, this one sticks out like a sore thumb. If you want to smell like a 14 year old boy for stupid money, then this is the scent to go for.
I was expecting more from Pardon - partly due to the praise surrounding it, but also I hoped the fantastic creativity and quality of ingredients from other Nasomatto releases would carry over with this one. Unfortunately I’m a bit disappointed. Pardon opens straight away with a dry, dusty and slightly animalic oud which smells one-dimensional and flat. There’s a hint of magnolia and other florals, although very subtle, and a slight touch of spicy cinnamon. This scent profile then stays rather linear for the entire life of the scent. Personally I was hoping for the chocolate to be more prominent but to me it’s almost non existent, all I’m left with is a dry, simple oud which feels flat and uninspired with little to no depth.
Im so pissed off!, this has 0 resemblance to dior homme intense etc. This IS NOT an Iris scent!!!. 0 Iris in here. Its a basic aromatic/fougere designer scent kmt. Ya'll need to stop lying to the rest of us on here. Wasted my damn money kmt.

IL PROFVMO was one of the first niche houses which I tried to find in Italy long time ago. I don’t remember exactly from where I found this house but it was tempting because of affordable prices. That time I wasn’t so much in the niche world - yet. It was very difficult to find those perfumes but I found many many others and the rest is the history. Until these days I have tried to find some of Il Profvmos to test. Few weeks ago I got souvenirs from @profumeria.boutiquedessence1 in Noci. The owners are so professionals, so kind and I can’t vait to visit them. 🤍🤍🤍 Thank you so much! I got “a sample” of Chocolat Frais (and Ambre D’Or). Everyone knows Thierry Mugler’s Angel. I used to love it but it was difficult for me to wear it. Chocolat Frais is like diluted version of Angel (not in the bad way). It’s everything which Angel is not: sophisticated, delicate, restrained, subtle and charming. It’s totally the different scent but straight away Angel comes into my mind like those memories as well from the past when Angel was released. I’m totally in love with this scent. I don’t know how to put this into the words but this is absolutely gorgeous. I never believed that I can adore so much as spicy scent as this is: Cinnamon and Cardamom with Ginger are detectable not only in the opening but remain beautifully even in the dry down. That blend is intoxicating, very oriental like is the note of the rose. It’s not traditional fresh rose or sweet “jammy” rose, it’s dark and spicy and challenging to detect. If you don’t like roses, you can still like this. All notes here are somewhat unusual. Sandalwood is dominant note (on my skin) from the compex perfectly blended base and it’s as well spicy - everything in this scent is covered with spices. 🤎 My bottle is quite new batch and straight away after I got the bottle in my hands I was spraying this 10 times in the air and it took two months to start to perform well. I’m more than curious to try the original batch some day but on the other hand this is amazing and I don’t want to ruin my love for this. I think the main differences are the way how Oakmoss and Musk perform in the base. The scent doesn’t feel out dated but it’s delightfully different than all the scents released during last years. AMOUAGE LYRIC WOMAN Old vs. new The in depth review of the new one written earlier! Meanwhile trying to find an old big bottle of Lyric Woman I luckily found a mini bottle of it. I was thinking that there is a huge difference between them but surprisingly the new one is not a catastrophe. They are just like two different concentrations. So yes, the new one is diluted but as I am an oversprayer I have to admit that I love that one as well. An old one is oilier and there is a lot of pure Rose oil in it which I was expecting since this scent has been described as having a rich Rosy heart. The formula is more concentrated but I think that Lyric Limited Edition Perfume Extract is very close to the old one. Old one is rounder and more polished than the new one like always with extracts and the new one is spicier which is not a bad thing. When the scent evolves they come closer to each others. Like always with extracts an old ones stays closer to the skin while the new formula is projecting more. After 12 hours sleep there is barely nothing left of more concentrated one, just soft hints of base notes while the new one is still smelling the same yet not so strong. My conclusion: instead of paying crazy prices for an old bottle I’m happy with my new one. It didn’t move into the swap list. If I find an extract version some day I will buy it but not because I need it. I hope this comparison helps you to choose between them but whatever is your choice the scent is gorgeous for sure! Can be ghastly in the wrong context, but going for a stroll on a warm, sunny day with a breeze it's absolutely perfect. I thought Myths Woman was the essence of the forest floor and it's earthy mulch until I smelled this. Exquisite, moldy, wet and green this is the photorealistic natural environment, whereas Myths Woman represents a melancholic hydra slithering about in the swampy mud. Further exploration reveals minty sweetness with some sparkle, I guess the geranium and vetiver. Card testers don't do this justice, put it on your skin. Uodate: annoying aftermath from this perfume is a permanent geosmin smell on fabric - powerful and eternal. It makes me hesitant to wear it.
Blind bought. Preliminary thoughts: Yeeeeessss!! Its nothing like Interlude. It's not very animalic. It's beautiful and addictive. On card, it's herby, piney green. On skin, it's lavender and caramel over oakmoss. I love it. Strength = nuclear, indelible, permanent, but not suffocating. That said, I'll be wearing half a spray shared between both wrists and picking the occasion(s) prudently. Update: smells evil on card and thus on clothing, especially over the following days, and will never dissappear. But on skin it's a different story. The issue is the strength, as I can never decide where to spray it. Inner elbow smells best but I don't want it on my clothes, neck is too close to the face and your central nervous system will begin to shut down with the humming potency of the juice. I guess one wrist will do. Two sprays is too much, so one little spray on one wrist then dab together. Edit - having now tried most of the house's scents on my skin more than once, this is the best for me. It's the only one they doesn't seem like it's trying first and foremost to smell expensive and loud for the sake of it, and the only one to show a visionary approach. Bravo, clap clap clap, bravo. I want to try more scents by Miguel Matos.
Decant into a roller and dab minimally on pulse points, otherwise it's too much, but with this minimalist approach it's phenomenal. You're welcome.
Okay so I need to temper my review here because I could have the potential to wax lyrical about this one and I'm aware that this fragrance may not be everyone's cup of tea nor is it by any means breaking any new ground but I think that is precisely why I adore it. When folks (usually me) say stuff like...'they don't make um like this anymore.' It's usually about some bleary old vintage Men's bollocks. There have been attempts by indy perfumers and brands who are fans of a certain era and style of perfume to evoke classic masculine tropes with varying degrees of success. I get the intent and I'm here for it but the execution is more often than not, left wanting. Not in the case of Cologne Officinale. I'm assuming the name is referential to a sort of Italian style of perfumery because it has the fresh 'Amalfi' vibes coupled with the requisite 'soapiness' often described in Italian perfumery. What's not very 'Cologne' about it is the lack of white florals, or waxiness and it's not a fleeting perfume by any means. Citrus accord is bittersweet and long lasting, instantly fresh and arresting but has a depth and quality to it. The next phase is a growing mossy note/accord and some degree of 'push' and floracy from like a hedione effect, a la Eau Sauvage. The comparisons should end there though because this does have a distinctly different vibe thanks in part to some of that green galbanum, although it's not as present or green as something like that Les Abstraits one I love or other masculine focused recent efforts but is on a par quality wise. This really feels like it could be an 80's Men's vintage 'Sport' flanker thing but with all the top notes intact and a modernised feel. This is precisely why I will give it some creativity points because it feels somewhat modernised and not just a copy or hommage to fusty old bizz, which it so easily could be mistaken for. Make no mistake though, even with this there's no surprises in Cologne Officianale other than it's being released in 2023 by a brand which for me have never really done much I'm interested in. Top marks to Heeley for recognising the need for something like this in this era of dreck and rehash, yes I'm saying that about a WOODY, MOSSY, CITRUS, COLOGNE FOR MEN....but good is good, and this is VERY GOOD. Also reasonably priced for a niche perfume and something I would wear the shit out of in the same way I do an Eau Sauvage or a Cerrutti 1881 so a 100ml bottle is something I can see in my future for sure.
This is a fantastic perfume, it really is. Opens with exotic florals but not so much so that it would alienate non floral lovers because it's inherent warmth and classic charm, just gently simmers beneath. It then becomes a sort of rose and sandalwood accord with a degree of depth, warmth, and darker intrigue, than the opening would suggest and hat tipping to it's forebears, perhaps Sheldrake's SL Santal Majescule and the ilk? This perfume is a good example of what a well rounded perfumer Pissara is, yes it has her signature floral and warm base characteristics but I think this one displays yet another way of presenting those elements. I loved wearing it today, I like it's progression, how gentle but present it is and the overall quality. Bravo!
This stuff is amazing. Sweet, syrupy citrus and green stemmy notes open the perfume before a long, ambery dry down. A brilliant and long lasting summer freshie. And the bottle is glorious too.
Expertly done, boring and generic. Smells exactly like every other release from every other designer house this year, which I'm sure is what they wanted. Don't take any notice of the notes.
CLASSY EVERYDAY BARBERSHOP FOUGERE. I have had a big craving for this type of fragrance for most of the summer. I love old school clean soapy but easy to wear masculine fragrances and one I have been really wanting to add to my collection is New York Intense by Nicolai. Since owning this that desire to own NYI has faded! This is as lovely and easy to wear as Maison Margiela’s ‘At The Barber’s’ but this adds some more depth and longevity. It’s a brilliant everyday option for this genre.
MASS APPEALING & EASY TO LOVE Lots of citrus with a lovely mix of lime and Bergamot. It has an addictive bitterness in the opening that turns sweeter as it wears on. It has a subtle warming aromatic spice that gives it a tiny touch of old school. The composition goes from light and airy to creamy and musky. The fixatives have been cleverly added to make the fragrance stick to the skin and last for most of the day. There are some big hitting long lasting summer fragrances I love such as Xerjoff Renaissance & Amouage Sunshine man and I would definitely Chuck this into the mix with those. Great release from Soma 👏
If Vanilla perfume had a color in most cases it would be white or yellow. The color of Absolute Aphrodisiac is definitely a baby pink. This perfume is so fluffy, somehow in an abstract way it reminds me of an ice cream and somehow sleeping on the clouds (like I have done it). It smells like what is the view from the window in the airplane over all those cottonwool fields - soft, cozy, enormous peace. Absolute Aphrodisiac is very synthetic and there is not even a hint of natural Vanilla. But in the same time it’s exceptional since despite of those it’s beautiful, not cloying at all nor too sweet and I enjoy it. This was my most worn “sleeping scent” during the last winter. The base of this scent is great. It’s not so obvious to separate the notes but cunningly the base is “the thing” in this fragrance. Personally I don’t detect a leather at all like many of us but I think a hint of it is enough to save the whole experience from being too sweet and a musky note together with Castoreum are keeping the concoction sensual enough. In my opinion Absolute Aphrodisiac is easy to love but difficult to find the other situation to wear it than sleeping. Now after wearing and loving many heavy scents this didn’t need black suit anymore but my attitude was “boss mood” anyway. 😅 The in depth review of this later. “The worlds of fragrance and opera were brought together for three nights in March 2019 when The Royal Opera House Muscat, Oman, asked Roja Dove to capture the essence of their new world premiere production of Lakmé.” This is maybe my most delicate, subtle and ethereal scent which I own. It’s fragile and innocent. It’s sensitive and elegant. So amazingly beautiful! 😌 Lakmé is a bouquet of fresh, soft and warm roses. 🌹 It shines in all kind of weather but I love it most when it’s warm enough. Lakmé is the pure quiet luxury. 💎 It opens up with sparkling aldehydes and indulgent Rose de Mai and Taif Rose shines from the beginning until the end. The concoction remains quite simple yet enchanting and fresh. Woody and powdery base of Sandalwood and Orris with Musk creates a soft bed for the roses. Is it redundant if you have Turandot? Dior Granville gone rancid. So repulsive. It's the only perfume I've ever thrown away. I can only imagine what the original must have smelled like, this is a total mess.
I've had two batches and they were totally different. The first was nuclear and eternal, the more recent a mere ghost of the former, while still smelling good; faint and fleeting. I'm not normally one to wank on about bathes, but when it's this expensive it's worth knowing. As for the scent in my old bottle, it's the most incredible perfume I've come across. Never the same on any two days, complex, dynamic and majestic, it never fails to make me frequently pause for thought while I'm wearing it. Magic.
