I appreciate it and it has been forever my mother's signature scent but call me crazy but I have this mindset that a perfume does not have to kill you in order to be considered a good perfume... Being in the same room with my mother right after she has applied this can and will kill me and my poor allergic nose, but I have associated it with fond and warm thoughts once it dried down and could hug my mom again! Maybe due to my personal circumstances, I consider it a classic super strong mature lady scent, and not so unisex.

This is an almost certain pleaser for a mature lady. It has this classic "mature strong-willed woman" vibe. It's too strong for me and I feel a bit too young for it (even though I am 30!).

My immediate reaction to the first spray was repulsion. It feels pretty green to me, which is usually not to my liking. From the bottle and the advertisement of this perfume I understand they mean "good girl" metaphorically and sexually, however it gives me clean, unironic good girl vibes, and I don't like it when the perfume is not consistent with its package, name and concept. The dry down is sweeter amd more pleasant but those top green notes were really off-putting for me.

Although I think of myself as someone who likes lactonic perfumes, this is on the edge. I sprayed it only once on me and I found myself both smelling my wrist yet also being sooo close to feeling nauseous. I don't think I could do more than one spray. Strangely I also did not sense much of the woody notes. Really conflicting smell. It's an okay perfume balancing on the line. Its popularity is a little perplexing.

It is an okay perfume but I am not sure why it got so much more successful than its infinitely more unique, mystical and special (and very unlucky) shortlived predecessor, Belle d'Opium by Yves Saint Laurent . This one has nothing in common with the classic Opium Eau de Parfum 2009 by Yves Saint Laurent . It is a warm sweet gourmand. I also can't understand for the life of me why it is advertised as a perfect rock star vibe or a clubbing perfume. It's not dark or edgy at all, I would wear this to grab a cup of hot chocolate (I like the aroma but I hate the taste of coffee, so chocolate it is!) and read a book by the fireplace! The misleading name and advertising puts me off. It's not black, not dark, not opium, not oriental enough (or at all, if you ask me), not necessarily for a "special occasion or night out". It is sweet, warm, cozy and sexy though.

It was given as a gift to me and I will be honest, I did not expect to like this but it surprised me positively. It smells fresh, clean and sweet. It's perfect for a teen girl or a young woman. Very good for daily wear and warmer days. I regret throwing away the bottle once I used all the perfume, it was fun looking. I have not tried the rest of the Fantasy line but this one is a good casual perfume in a very good price.
