As you burrow deeper into this rabbit hole that is the fragrance hobby, it can be easy to fall victim to feeling the need to acquire every interesting recommendation thrown your way.

This is simply not necessary.

It is especially enticing when a fragrance is presented to you as easy to acquire because it's cheap, or as worth its very high price solely because it will get you compliments.

Again, unnecessary. And compliments cannot be guaranteed with any fragrance.

I'd like to encourage you do something a little cliché--you've heard this a lot. But it has never ceased to be true: prioritize quality over quantity.

You don't need 50+ different ways to simply smell "good". Rather than spend your money on 4-6 cheapies at a time at the rack store that all might only smell interesting for the first two hours, save that money for 1-2 quality fragrances that will keep you coming back for more.

If you are not interested in this kind of filtering, no worries at all. But perhaps one day, after you've encountered countless fragrances, you will.
