After many hard days, I need something comforting and easy, soft and enveloping. The scent of 1970 is creamy pudding like milk chocolate which is cozy, hazy, opulent and not too sweet, sugary nor generic. As the scent evolves it becomes delicately powdery, a bit like a powder mix of Cocoa and Vanilla. This is very unique gourmand, not so elegant like gourmands rarely are but amazing regardless. For me this a scent to wear at home or at the cottage under the blanket and next to the fireplace. I wouldn’t wear this at work. Even if it reminds me of milk chocolate pudding, it’s rather a thick texture and how I feel, I don’t think that I would like to eat it though. That’s why I think that this is not juvenile at all, it’s a mature gourmand. I have seen reviews where people are complaining about the aroma which is like a mix of Curry and Cumin but luckily on my skin the spices don’t perform in that kind of way at all. The fruity nuance is almost non-existent and the earthy and woody notes restrain the development of the scent into something clearly edible. Amber is also crucial note to ensure that the scent is not too sweet and syrupy. The base is a collection of notes that blend seamlessly together. Sometimes you get the feeling that it’s even too easy and because of that, the scent may lose interest for some. However, because of that 1970 is so perfect when you feel exhausted or stressed. This perfume is very long lasting on my skin, aroumd 10-12 hours. Mostly I wear this during the evening at home and I can still smell it on my skin in the morning. Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review. I would appreciate if you follow my IG: @ninamariah_perfumes It gives me a lot of motivation to write more. 🤗
Such an underrated powdery musk. I was amazed how smooth and soft it smells and such great quality fragrance.
A tea refreshing scent that is just a shamed that is discontinued…
this stuff is so strong 2 sprays they was smelling me at work 12 hour later. Very floral opening. I can smell the rose but it's not overpowering or as strong as I would prefer but it's there. Probably my favorite from the house. if you like oud I would think a person would like this as well.
if your wanting something strong and that will last this will be right up your alley
This one is incredible. It opens with a little berry, then dries down to woods, smoke and leather. If you love incense like I do, then you’ll enjoy this. One of the best smelling incense fragrances I have ever tried.
Beautiful tuberose layered with fresh spices and citrus. Somewhat addictive scent, improves your mood and makes you feel like it's spring and you're in a blooming garden, full of live.
I’m not sure how Mizensir have managed to get both the sharpness of the berries as well as the jaminess to come through but they have!
It’s not too sweet and fruity - stays away from being sickly. I get full on raspberr, no musks come through on my skin.
I like it but the price is too much for my pocket
A gorgeous blast of orange to start and then the creaminess of the sandalwood kicks in.
Reminds me of an orange sorbet - it’s a perfect blend of its name. Great price point and the dry down is soft and long lasting once the citrus disappears.
This is good quality for the price
I’m impressed. The performance is REALLY good. The patchouli in it comes off chocolatey when it dries down. Great for the cold weather.
Spicy, bright, woody, aromatic, and powdery.
The pencil shavings twinge from ambroxan also adds a brightness.
It's an easy go to, but also easy to over do.
This one takes a little getting used to, since it's not quite what I expected: I thought it would be a mossy, earthy, leathery incense, but it's very predominantly a spicy rose scent with some dusty herbal touches of immortelle and myrrh and orris waxiness. Genteel and sweet with a rustic-yet-cozy animalic quality: Mr. Tumnus strolling home through a hedge maze with a bouquet of roses, but small animals have been relieving themselves in the undergrowth. The bouquet is accented with weeds and tied with a fancy ribbon. Quirky, but I could see it growing on me!
Smells like babypowder, a bit too powdery. I can not detect any particular note. It can be a cozy bedtime fragrance maybe.
Heath Ledger (Joker) signature sent
Smells like Gotham basically
When you buy it let it sit and macerate for about 2-4 months
To me this smells like the camphor you put on a body for the janazah
Probably the hardest fragrance to wear in my collection
While this may not be everyone's cup of tea I think what they did here was take the OG POL and made it slightly more mass appealing
One thing I take note of is how good it performs off my skin it lasts about 10 hours with the first 3 hours having insane projection and sent trail
Do not over spray this as you will go nose blind and lose out on the experience of the notes transitioning from opening to dry down
I've had this for almost a month and really tried to give it a chance, but I can't seem to get over the strong nutty scent from it throughout. It smells good on the tester strip however once it just doesn't sit well with my body chemistry all I can smell is the hazelnut. It does perform better than the OG though, lasted at least 12 hours on my clothes and 6+ hrs on my skin.
I agree with all of the other reviewers but I also get mint and vetiver vibes from the opening and mid. This is 100% genderless, and has the classic watery Ellena feel with the surprising subsequent performance.
I got this scent because I saw that is a dupe or inspiration of Amouage Reflection. I find it to be pleasant, clean, and masculine, but not overpowering. The bottle is horrible, but don’t let that deceive you, it holds quality juice inside.
The best clone of grand soir by MFK
This thing is insanely strong
If you're not into middle eastern style oud stay clear
Good luck getting a bottle at a decent price people are certainly price gouging with this one
This is one of my favorite freshies literally smells like water
This is ridiculously cheap for the quality you get for the price
Sad to say I barely wear this cause of how hot it gets where I live but man this is a must have if you love leather fragrances
Worth every single penny you pay for
In my opinion this is Top 5 fragrances of all time so sad to see it get a reformulation potentially getting discontinued soon I need to get myself a bottle of this before they do
