This is top-tier artisanal perfumery!
I've had a really good experience with Von Eusersdorff fragrances in the past, specifically the Classic Myrrh, and Classic Opoponax doesn't disappoint.
The overall vibe of this is a slightly spiced, powdery, and faintly sweet sandalwood & amber fragrance that leans into the very nice jasmine and rose of the opening.
The vanilla doesn't lean into the dessert territory and presents itself in a more refined and mature manner.
For those who enjoy the Musc Ravageur type of vanilla, you will feel right at home here.
St Vetyver is DS&Durga going for the classic wet shaving take on the bay rhum scent.
This is not the only attempt as Barbados came before, and Rum Bay Rum afterwards.
St Vetyver has the typical spiced opening from the clove and the slightly sweet booziness of rum argicole (from sugarcane instead of molasses)
In typical DS&Durga fashion, there are some unique notes added in like hat straw and breadnut.
All in all, this is a very pleasant take on a classic masculine fragrance and a lovely reminder that the summer months do not necessitate that we wear only aquatic, citrus and fresh scents.
The more I sample from this brand the more I realize that everything seems to be a poorly made inspired by clone brand whose only creativity is to pack as many synthetic aroma chemicals into the fragrance.
Throwing Superz Budapest fragrances into the rubbish is a huge insult to the trash bin.
This is a total mess of a scent. Overly sweetened synthetic amberwoods bomb.
If you are the type of person who insists on being smelled from across the room (for the wrong reasons) I suppose this is for you.
My condolences to those in your vicinity.
Why am I subjecting myself to this? I've clearly learned nothing from the other slop I've tried from this brand.
