Unisex This unusual beauty is a floral woody, greenish scent which turns from the bitter and for some maybe even harsh opening into soft calmness. This is an elixir of therapeutic, relaxing, aromatic and exotic notes and it’s warm and cozy but not in the traditional and so used noticeable “Vanilla way”. This is a mix of not so familiar ingredients and it makes this interesting. You get the feeling of tranquility inside the bubble which Pavillon D’Or creates and it’s noticeable around you as well, not too loud, not too weak, just in the right kind of projection for this kind of scent. What makes this really interesting as well, the character of all Pissara’s creations, is the ability to differ a lot depending on the wearer. It’s impossible to tell in advance in what kind of way Dusitas are going to behave on the skin and which of the notes will open most prominently. One thing is sure: the more warm the juice gets the prettier it comes. This scent is really special, it’s not for everyone so test it and do it many times since you don’t get the whole picture of the scent straight away. I wore this many days to understand this totally and to notice all its beautiful facets. I wanted to open up the different notes little bit. Top: Peppermint (refreshing, cooling, green vibe) Honeysuckle (sweet floral note) Orris root (Powdery and earthy, lasts long for me here) Middle: Fig leaf (a green and bitter note, prominent in the opening for me) Heliotrope (Strong for me, makes this scent soft and powdery) Boronia absolute (fruity sweet floral note) Thyme Oil (a strong, rich and warm herbal smell) Somalian frankincense Green Sacra Base: English oak Australian sandalwood Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Unisex (mail leaning imo) “For thousands of years, the Sultanate of Oman has been celebrated for producing the world’s finest Frankincense.” This perfume is all about Frankincense and you can feel it’s beautiful, fresh, warm and balsamic tones straight away from the opening until you can notice the last whiffs from the scent. Papyrus adds dry and aromatic woody vibes. Saffron mingles around those both and brings a little bit bitter, yet soft and earthy nuances to the spicy blend while another main base note oud builds the body of the scent and makes it deep and strong, a little bit gasoline like. I like Raspberry, Rose de Mai, Violet and Jasmine in here since they bring just the right hint of sweetness and sophistication to the whole juice without taking away any attention from Frankincense. Those notes don’t bring femininity to this, just to mention. During the day Sandalwood comes more in the picture making the scent softer but remaining anyway the fresh vibe. For me this is best to wear during the spring and even summertime since it’s not so hot here in Finland. My skin is so much colder than for example my husbands and I need warmer weather for many perfumes to shine in the right way. Oud is really pleasant here, not in any kind of way dirty, animalic or barnyardish which it was in already discontinued perfumes from the collection. TOP: Grapefruit, Orange* HEART: Rose de Mai, Jasmin de Grasse, Violet, Raspberry BASE: Cardamom, Elemi, Saffron*, Gurjum, Papyrus*, Oakmoss, Cedarwood, Guaiacwood, Amyris, Sandalwood*, Aoud*, Carrot Seed, Orris, Frankincense*, Birch, Musk *Main notes Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
STÉPHANE HUMBERT LUCAS Harrods H Mamba 2015 La Collection Serpent Unisex, leaning masculine This masterfully blended perfume is the most unique one, “King” imo in this so called Snake Collection.🐍 It has a similar juxtaposition of notes as Soleil De Jeddah OG has, both totally different scents though. Those juices are as well maybe one of the most artistic ones from SHL’s perfumes, at least what I have tried so far. If I would describe this scent: I get the feeling of the burning sand in the heat of the dessert and this snake is there. H Mamba opens up with Osmanthus which brings soft and sensual leathery feeling together with hints of Apricot and all that supports the leather note in the woody base. The opening fades away but the scent doesn’t change so much since it has same nuances from the start which you can find from the dry down. H Mamba is a warm and somewhat dry resinous scent with earthy vibe and there is all the notes which monsieur Lucas does the best: Amber, Iris (OrrisI Root) and balsamic notes - in this case Styrax. There is Leather and Oud in the base notes but those are not that evident, they give the body and richness to this mesmerising blend. As I’m a lover of those two notes I would say that this is quite safe but as a whole composition this not safe anymore - it’s so special. It needs a certain kind of mood to wear it. You can definitely detect a Leather if you are not so used to it but Oud is really tamed and not animalic in any kind of way. Anyway this is really well blended and no single note is standing above the others. Longevity of this perfume is really good. I recommend to sample this first as I emphasise how unique this fragrance is but if you like SHL’s DNA and leather just go for it, your decision of course. The only reason for voting score down is wearability. This is very artistic and it's not so easy to wear. As you can see, this is not complex what comes to the notes but those has been ingeniously put together and the blend is brilliant.
My goodness, this is absolutely banging!!!!!. Zara have outdone themselves with this one. Might even top my all time fave from them which was Rich warm addictive🤔🤔😉👍🏿
Unisex Characteristic for Taif Rose are intense but soft, powdery and even honeyed notes yet honey is not noticeable in this perfume. Taif Aoud opens up with sparkling Aldehydes together with that captivating, sensual and mesmerizing Rose and that makes it feel like the fresh mountain air, the fresh wind from the mountains which fills your senses. That fresh and earthy vibe is toned up with Patchouli and Frankincense which is really intoxicating here together with non animalic pleasant, round and elegant oud. Taif Aoud is very versatile since it’s not offending people. The blend is not so strong, it’s not the Oud which screams and shout it’s existence but in the same time it’s noticeable. The longevity and projection is not like a typical oud perfume which makes this great for the spring and a summertime like as well for the people who are not so big fan of the bold and brash oud scents. This parfume is all about roses and oud so on the other hand it’s leaning on feminine side but on the other hand there is certain masculine vibe. Even if Labdanum doesn’t come out in leathery way it certainly brings depth to this. For those who are not familiar with Roja Parfums’ compositions I want to mention the following of the notes here: -Bergamot in the opening is barely noticeable. -From the middle notes the main note is Rose and it is what you get. Even another main note in the middle, Cassis, is really tame. -You don’t find here strong Patchouli neither Labdanum as a clear leather note. Vanilla and Musk as well are well blended and not noticeable in a traditional way. Taif Aoud is magnificent and addictive scent. 🌹💎 I love it! Top Notes: Aldehydes*, Bergamot Middle Notes: Geranium, Rose*, Jasmin de Grasse, Ylang Ylang, Clove Buds, Cassis Base Notes: Patchouli, Aoud, Benzoin, Vanilla, Frankincense*, Labdanum, Musk * being main notes Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Unisex I had a difficult relationship with this special unique so called “gourmand” for long time. I loved it from the beginning, that was sure but I needed to get to know her better. I’m just not so big fan of gourmands - I like many and love some a lot but I don’t want to smell myself like many of those. There is just few gourmands which deserves the place in my collection and Sweetie Aoud is one of those. Sweetie Aoud is not so obvious gourmand since the gourmand note is “patisserie accord” which is not any concrete food. That’s why I love it a lot. It’s rather a feeling and a smell which is a whiff of a French or Italian cafe full of delicious pastries made mainly from butter dough. The smell is a littlle bit sweet and soft buttery but the genious blend gives in the same time such a fresh vibes which I find extremely interesting. There is a really herbal fresh opening with Bergamot and Artemisia and quickly after that follows Patisserie Accord which is the strongest during the first 30 minutes. It’s so realistic that you can just close your eyes and you can imagine yourself in front of that glass in patisserie choosing something delicious to eat with your Latte. Rose is only supportive note here and Cistus is barely detectable but those tunes down the sweetness. After this starts the main show! Next the basenotes take over your senses and the buttery note melts beautifully together with spicy, aromatic and earthy notes, Frankincense and Aoud being the prominent ones. Like all Rojas this juice is so well blended that it’s very difficult to separate notes but that makes even the gourmand perfume luxurious, polished and charming. This is simply a stunning perfume for wintertime! Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Female leaning but amazing on confident men 💯 Well, I try my best to make a post which this beauty deserves. 💎 I will write this review in two parts and in the first one I concentrate in facts of this beautiful creation and in the second one I will write my own musing and actual review. I wish as well that she would get more love and attention in the fragrance community since this seems to be not so popular or at least it doesn’t come across so often. This perfume is reformulated and I haven’t tried the old one so this is just based on the new formulation. Before Nüva was only available in 100ml bottles and I somehow understand a certain caution to invest in that since it may be is too much for many but now it has been available in 50ml as well so it’s more reachable. ❤️ As I love the stories behind the scents and the names of the perfumes I want to attach Roja’s musing here: “Inspired by the legend of NüWa, the gentle and kindly Chinese goddess who is said to have created humanity; and according to the myth taught her people to be creative and wise, introduced beauty through music, song and dance, and filled all flowers with fragrance. A tender liquid narrative to seduce the soul, a gentle harmony of Rose, Jasmin and Orange Blossom create a floral song that graces a pillowy bed of Sandalwood, Benzoin and Vanilla.” - ROJA DOVE. Top Notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit Heart Notes: Rose de Mai *, Orange Blossom *, Jasmin de Grasse * Base Notes: Clove, Cumin, Pepper, Sandalwood *, Benzoin *, Vanilla *, Peru Balsam * The main notes Suitable year around 🌹 REVIEW 🌹 Simplified Nüva is all about the divine regal Rose de Mai lying in the indulgent velvety bed of Vanilla, Benzoin and Sandalwood. It’s not so simple anyway so let’s take a closer look into this more complex mesmerizing, captivating and sensual juice which supposed to be more known in the community of perfume lovers. Nüva opens up with the bright and fresh splash of Bergamot and Grapefruit twisted with the spicy notes from the base. Clove, Cumin and Pepper is quite prominant in the beginning and contrary to what you might expect since these are the basenotes the strongest whiff fades away quickly. The purpose of these notes afterwards is to balance sweetness and softness together with Peru Balsam, so that the whole blend does not become too sweet or too vanilla-like at any point because that’s not the point in this beautiful composition. Vanilla here is definitely not gourmandy overly sweet one, it’s rather even earthy and breathing sophisticated and polished Vanilla with warmth of Benzoin to which Sandalwood brings a slightly creamy soft touch. There are three bewitching flowers in the harmony and each of those has the role. Like I said in the beginning "Nüva is all about the divine regal Rose de Mai” and that’s because characteristics of Rose de Mai is mellow, deep and very persistent smell which last from the beginning until the last end of this show. Orange Blossom’s fresh and sweet nuances together with Jasmine de Grasse’s subtle and charming powdery touch mingle to that rare Rose which blooms for only three weeks a year. This is very comforting, soft and fluffy scent. It’s very cozy but in the same time so classy, luxurious and sophisticated yet powerful. It makes a huge scent bubble around you. I LOVE this scent so much! ❤️ Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Unisex I wanted to say something about this unique parfum since it was just discontinued and now you can still find it even if it’s not anymore in Nasomatto’s website. This is great for the springtime and summertime. Gualtieri never releases used ingredients and notes of his perfumes and it’s ok but what comes to China White I think it’s really rare to find honest opinion about how it really smells. It’s obvious that CW belongs to floral woody fragrances but all other is speculation and even there is florals and “powdery” note, I want to speak about this creation straight and with the right definition. Powdery for example here doesn’t mean powdery like it’s used in perfumery notes. It’s just trying to describe the scent without using correct words which would be considered inappropriate. Nasomatto’s China White and Black Afgano has described as Yin and yang which is a Chinese philosophical concept that describes opposite but interconnected forces. Black Afgano is really mellow unique scent with potent untraditional Hashish whiff and I would lie if I wouldn’t say that China White has been made to bring strong chemical Cocaine vibe. That vibe comes straight away after spraying and there is no reason why it wouldn’t be meant to be like that. No doubt that it is maybe as well the one main reason why this scent is discontinued since it’s really challenging to sell this because of it’s unique character and scent which is some kind of tabu to say it out loud. I hope no one gets offended now because of what I have wrote since that is the reason why this is not described as is should. I’m not trying to glamorize anything - I only want this scent would be described as it deserves since this is very unique and captivating yet brash take on perfumery. I respect the courage which is needed to create something like that and that was the main reason why I bought this long time ago. I was actually thinking that this will disappear even more quickly from the market. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Unisex Eau de Parfum 100ml (Extrait comes in 25ml bottles) Despite of a few simple ingredients this kind of scent is impossible for me to buy without testing and therefore I’m really glad that I saw this @campomarzio70 in Rome. Black beetle is a beautiful and mellow Patchouli scent which first shines with dark airiness and freshness and then turns into a sweeter and warmer tones. That pleasant mesmerizing blend has an additional hint of woody note from incense in the opening and a spicy note from Chili in the heart. Patchouli is not pungent or unpleasant at any point, but rather soft and all mingle perfectly together with woody base. Patchouli is here edgy yet masterfully made to show it’s all most beautiful characteristics one after another. Top notes: Bergamot, Raspberry, Incense (Patchouli in the opening is so brash that I can’t separate Bergamot or Rasberry) Heart notes: Chili, Patchouli Base notes: Woods I was so curious to learn more about “Incense” as a note and it it turned out to be very interesting. “The history of incense itself goes back thousands of years – in fact, the first perfumes were burned, not worn: perfume actually gets its name from ‘per fumum’, or ‘through smoke’. The name ‘incense’, meanwhile also comes from the Latin: ‘incendere’ means ‘to burn’.” Olibanum or Frankincense is usually meant by incense in a perfumery. It could also refer to a smoky note but it’s not the case in Black Beetle. This projects well and people can smell the scent long after you have left the room. 🔥💯 And the bottle is gorgeous! 💎 It’s so beautiful, regal and unique since so many houses seems to prefer square shaped bottles. Unisex I like this house a lot and the simplicity in their blends is a complete opposite of what I've been used to lately. Anyway particularly in this leather scent the simplicity got me bored with the scent and I didn't wear it anymore. Leather as a note is not easy for me but when it's combined with several other notes it's fine and I love it in many scents. There is used different ingredients to imitate a leather in Falcon Leather and Aurelien Guichard has made it masterfully in this ambery scent. This perfume opens up with a Saffron and Labdanum creating the very realistic mellow yet smooth leather note while Saffron is bringing soft and earthy vibe in the same time. Birch Tar continues sensual and inviting leather while Benzoin in the base wraps the other notes in a warm embrace together with Oud like deepness. By the way did you know that Birch Tar used here is from Finland? This is a beautiful linear scent, very easy to wear and this is nice as well layered together with Matiere Premiere’s Crystal Saffron or Radical Rose. The latter one is definitely my favorite from this house. If you like leather you can’t go wrong with this! “At night the buildings shimmer vertically, against the dark sky. In the morning the sun rises over Manhattan illuminating the city that never sleeps." This beautiful bottle really shimmers against the darkness. ✨ There is a lot of notes in this perfume and a lot of going on like in New Your city. Happily I still don’t get a hectic or chaotic vibe from this scent - it’s rather calming and relaxing by forgetting all that traffic and hurry and I’m thinking myself watching all that up in the sky in my own peace. That never sleeping Manhattan with a millions of people is under my eyes and I concentrate on my own business. Manhattan is captivating and uplifting scent with ingeniously blended juice and the main notes Heliotrope, Coconut, Patchouli, Tcco, Cedarwood and Vanilla open up brightly together with aromatic Lavender and other floral notes. In my skin this doesn’t change so much during a couple of hours. You don’t have to be worried about overspraying this since after the opening it settles down to a beautiful skin scent, not too weak but just perfect for wearing at the office. I can get easily a little bit sweet Vanilla and Coconut while Patchouli is giving the fresh, earthy take on it, other spices are tuning the sweetness down with Oakmoss, and tcco gives a unique polished touch to this juice. It’s really sophisticated so you shouldn’t be worried about that note if you are not into that note. It’s not dirty nor literally smoky. Coconut here is beautiful as well, not at all cloying or sun lotion type - what else you can get from Roja Dove than divine, luxurious vibe in notes. Overall this perfume is posh, modern masterpiece from Roja Dove! 💯💎 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Feminine leaning FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I got what I was waiting: something totally different than a floral fruity fragrance would normally (if there is some “normal” but anyway) be. I just was thinking that I really don’t know how it is in heaven but I’m quite sure that this is the scent of heaven. This perfume creates so amazing captivating, divine and fluffy bubble around me while wearing this and it is easy to forget the sorrows in life. This stays in the clothes for a couple of days and it’s easy to overspray this since you are totally in your own world enjoying the beauty of this juice and you just want it more and more. THE REVIEW AFTER WEARING: More detailed review of this “Happy Mood -scent” (like I call this) - this is not a paid hype even if it sounds like that though 😅 This perfume has an amazing power to change a sad and melancholy feeling into happiness, a stress into a relieved mind and a sorrow into hope. It’s so fluffy, uplifting and joyous that you start to smile. 😌 Guidance is warm, mouthwatering fruity and juicy: notes comes from Pear in the opening and Osmanthus in the middle which smells like a soft and sensuous Apricot. 🤤 In the same time there is a fresh airiness: Hazelnut, Frankincense and Saffron are balancing sweet notes with savoury, fresh and earthy nuances. The divine aspect comes from the flowers: Rose and Jasmine Sambac brings sophisticated touch to this blend. The base of Guidance is really milky, soft and warm - Akigalawood and Ambergris create the structure and polished core to the juice. Vanilla is done so well here and in this case it means that this is not “Vanilla scent”. The whole perfume is masterfully blended. * Top Notes: Pear, Frankincense (Olibanum), Hazelnut. * Heart Notes: Saffron, Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus. * Base Notes: Cistus (Labdanum), Sandalwood, Akigalawood, Ambergris, Vanilla Guidance is projecting like a beast and a sillage is strong. This perfume makes a huge scent bubble where you are inside. 🫧 It feels like walking on the clouds. ☁️ This is a great perfume if you like to spray on clothes still it smells same on clothes. This doesn’t need necessarily skin to shine in the right way. And the scent stays all the day in your skin and many days in your clothes. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
The scent of happiness, the genius complexity and talented way to use fruity and gourmand notes This perfume has an amazing power to change a sad and melancholy feeling into happiness, a stress into a relieved mind and a sorrow into hope. Vanilla is done so well here and in this case it means that this is not “Vanilla scent”. The whole perfume is masterfully blended. I don't think this perfume as a gourmand. For me it is much more multifaceted and the complexity in it keeps it absolutely attractive and somewhat elegant compared to the scents which are "only gourmands". Elegant here doesn't mean fragile lady like elegance but something else than edible dessert like concoction. In the same time and despite of all that juicy fruity aspect, this is not only fruity scent, not at all. Linear fruity scents are not interesting enough for me and linear, clearly gourmands are not for me. Guidance has those both accords combined with the notes which all together create something utterly unique and addictive. * Top Notes: Pear, Frankincense (Olibanum), Hazelnut. * Heart Notes: Saffron, Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus. * Base Notes: Cistus (Labdanum), Sandalwood, Akigalawood, Ambergris, Vanilla Guidance is projecting like a beast and a sillage is strong. This doesn’t need necessarily skin to shine in the right way. And the scent stays all the day in your skin and many days in your clothes. This is worth all the hype but polarising as well. It's either love or hate and not a safe blind buy. If I'm thinking the latest Amouage releases, this and King Blue are absolutely the best ones. Can't wait to try an extract version of this one, I know I love it. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Unisex (Originally written in IG on 25th of February) This delicious slightly boozy perfume was the one which I was testing a long time ago and I didn’t like it at all. It was offensive yet interesting but I didn’t know that some day I would love it a lot and own the bottle. So if you didn’t like it back in the days maybe you should test it again! 💯 Anyway, here I am with my crispy, juicy delicious Apple Brandy and here in beautiful Rome the winter has already turned into the spring time and the weather is perfect for this scent. 💯 Very realistic apple with woody, boozy accord are the biggest reasons why I like this, otherwise this would be just an ordinary fruity perfume. Cardamom in the opening and mossy, woody notes tones the sweetness down and brightens up the fresh vibe but in the end of the journey sweetness tones up again because of Pineapple and Vanilla and I can smell really sweet even jammy apple in my wrist. I find this really fresh anyway and if I want that fresh feeling to last all the day I just re spray it. Lasting power is not so long though but for me it’s fine since I change the perfume during the same day. What comes to the boozy note it’s really hard to describe but it’s something like sparkling wine style rather than deep, dark Brandy. This is not totally my style but I couldn’t resist to have a full bottle. This is great perfume anyway and very wearable during the spring time - I think I will enjoy this during the summer as well! 🍏 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I remember the day when I got this perfume. it was a blind buy. I was totally thrilled from the first spray and still this is one of the best ouds in my collection. Oudh Infini is all what you can expect from really good oud scent with a rich and deep blend together with Civet and Musk while flowers, sandalwood, benzoin and vanilla make the scent very pleasant. This is not just some creation made because of the hype of oud. There is no oud in this fragrance just because you can tell it has it. Oudh Infini is a bold blend from Pissara and definitely not an easy choice, this is only for those who really like animalic vibes. This opens up with amazing mellow and edgy splash of Laotian Oud and Civet is very opulent from the start as well. This is straight away slightly skanky, it’s dirty and animalic and wow it’s so sexy! 🔥 For a few seconds you can get a barnyard vibe but straight away it gets tamed and starts to show the beauty with a beautiful Rose de Mai in it - in the same moment you are already hooked. Good quality strong oud and Civet, and Musk in the base make sure that this experience - which this perfume really is - doesn’t fade away for many hours. Yet, this is very enjoyable, not pungent at all and after the opening very smooth and wearable. Musky base with Civet and a little bit sweetness from Vanilla is amazing. I ❤️ this perfume a lot and it’s really adorable and addictive scent. I just want to smell my arm more and more, I feel that I don’t get enough! I don’t know if Dusita has even one scent which I don’t love. I just wish that Pissara will create more oud masterpieces, at least this is the proof that she can do those well! 💯 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
This fragrance is a mix of surprising notes and by quickly glancing at them you could think that this is a light fruity floral juice but the base notes turns that upside down into Amber spicy slightly animalic masterpiece. In the opening this is a delicious uplifting whiff of fruits, especially peach, and after just a few seconds, the special nature of the scent becomes apparent. There comes out a rich dose of sexy and captivating animalic and even oudy vibe (it’s not listed in the notes though) thanks to Castoreum which makes this really intriguing and bold scent. Labdanum creates very leathery and intense touch into this perfume. This doesn’t even try to be mass appealing scent. This is for those who know their style and can wear this with self confidence and respect this flirting mellow blend. There is a lot of going in the warm and mossy base (Coriander, Saffron, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Vetiver, Amyris, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Vanilla, Amber, Frankincense, Birch, Labdanum, Castoreum, Musk) but like all Roja’s the blend is so ingeniously combined that it is impossible to distinguish all the individual notes. While wearing this scent you feel fresh, delicious, sexy, erotic aura around you and this scent is unforgettable! And what is the one word I can use describing the juice and the bottle: it’s just 💎💎💎 Top: Lemon*, Cedrat, Bergamot Middle: Geranium, Rose de Mai*, Orange Blossom, Jasmin de Grasse*, Cistus, Peach* Base: Coriander, Saffron, Patchouli, Oakmoss*, Vetiver, Amyris*, Sandalwood*, Benzoin*, Vanilla*, Amber, Frankincense*, Birch, Labdanum*, Castoreum, Musk *Key ingredients Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Female leaning This scent has a special place in my heart. ❤️ I can’t be without wearing a perfume and I was just buying some stuff in the shopping center with my husband and I felt naked because I forgot perfume in the hurry while leaving from home. I sprayed this and I somehow liked it (difficult of course to say just after testing the first time). After for a while he just disappeared somewhere and came after few minutes and gave me this. 🥰 I didn’t like it so much during the first days but after few days I got hooked and I wore this many months as a signature scent. This was over a year ago. But what about the scent: opening is quite sharp citrus and lavender and it’s actually the difficult part for me and something which normally would have made me not to choose this. But after 15-20 minutes one of my favorites white flowers Orange Blossom and Jasmine start to shine together with soft, warm a little bit sweet and beautiful base with musky vanilla while Cedar and Ambergris is balancing the sweetness. The scent is not groundbreaking but it does has (at least had before there started to be many poor dupes of it) the unique and special, sumptuous character which is not so easy to find in designer scents nowadays. Several flankers are nice as well but since I'm not a fan of flankers I stick into this original one. I’m happy that I got to know this and this is one of my designer scents which I still adore. There is nothing so bad in this scent but it’s very synthetic and it’s not unique. I have “the same scent” in much more better quality like Nasomatto Narcotic V and Haüto which is more interesting. If I would buy one more Tuberose/Jasmine scent into my collection it would be Dusitas Melodie L’Amour which is really beautiful or Clive Christian Jump Up And Kiss Me Ecstatic which is totally in another level from Lady White Snake. This and Venom Incarnat are the most synthetic ones from Stéphane Humbert Lucas but Venom Incarnate is amazing in hot weather and it's unique. But if you love Tuberose and especially if you don't have any of this category yet, this could be your choice. The bottle is amazing like all in Snake Collection. Longevity and projection are great. This review is based on a sample, I don't need a full bottle. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
This is definitely the most versatile Tuberose which I know and which I have. Hauto is really enjoyable, comfortable and sensual and this is one of the rare Tuberose scents where it is balanced and somehow restrained. So if you are sensitive with many Tuberose scents and think those are too strong you can give this a chance. Hauto (with ^ on the top of u) is Esperanto and it means “skin” and that tells a lot of this amazing scent. “Hauto is an invitation to experience the fragrance of skin.” In the opening you can get a hint of Ananas which stays faint in the background for a while. Tuberose is strong in the opening but it’s sensitive and “friendly”. Rose and spices are barely noticeable. Tuberose somehow melts into the skin with amazingly soft Musk base. All those together create something unique which actually is like a second skin in the tempting, sensual, sophisticated way. I fell in love with this scent again and again every time I wear it. The simple, elegant 30ml bottle is adorable and easy. “During the Roaring Twenties, French Cancan dancers in the celebrated cabarets of Paris had their own very specific perfume rituals. Female leaning I like to wear this scent during the summertime and I fell in love with two years ago while testing it in hot Italy weather. How is this beauty? It opens up with a juicy Strawberry and Wild Strawberry notes and I love it. It’s quite sweet since there is a caramel note as well but woody and leather notes push the sweetness down after the dry down. I think this is so special for me since wild strawberry brings me back to my childhood memories when picking up those and when stringing them into the hay. I don’t get any Raspberries but I think it blends into Strawberries. This is not typical light girly Strawberry scent, it’s unique like all SHL:s creations. There is all the time certain kind of depth in the background. Juice vibe turns into soft Vanilla and Tonka but I can smell the hint of the Strawberry until the end. During the cold days this is not so beautiful but it’s just my opinion. Anyway this is really different in cold than in really hot so I recommend to test how it differs in your skin. All that synthetic feeling disappears in hot and all the notes are blending better. The hotter the better. Strawberry and caramel melt on my skin into very intoxicating sweet aroma. In wintertime I'm wondering why I even have this perfume and when the summer arrives I remember why I fell in love with this scent. I have noticed that some people compare this to La Capitale by Xerjoff and even think that’s this is redundant if you already have La Capitale but imo there is nothing same how these two perform. There is many same notes in those two and it looks like a same but especially Strawberry note is very different in those. La Capitale is really delicate compared to this. This has more character and a deeper woody touch. I think there is different occasions to wear those. Unisex, male leaning I have to say that when I saw the notes of this perfume first time I knew that I will love this. What I didn’t know was how delicious, passionate, sexy, interesting and rich blend it is without being too sweet despite of many sweet notes. There is a perfect balance with spicy and woody accords with sweet Vanilla and Caramel and I adore boozy Rum here! Leather note with Rum is lingering just right amount to remind me of Black Sabbath’s legendary guitarist Tony Iommi whose vision what rock 'n' roll in the late '60s is created to olfactive experience. His dark riffs has been replaced with different kind of notes to give us an amazing adventure for the senses and souls. 🎶🎵 I would say this is a masterpiece. This is something which I was missing for my collection and I was so sad while it was sold out and I didn’t know if there is coming more or not. I wasn’t in time to get the signed crystal bottle but I’m fine with this normal one, it’s so beautiful outside and inside. 💯💎 I highly recommend to sample and give it time to grow on you! I was thinking for a couple of weeks that my blind buy was a mistake but no, it really was a big favor to my senses. Sorry my English, I have a lot to say of this one of my favorite perfumes but translating everything I wanted to say is difficult since I don’t want to use only boring words to describe this 😅 •Bergamot, Rhum, Bulgarian Geranium, & Passion Fruit •Cinnamon, Bulgarian Rose, Patchouli From Singapore & Leather •Sandalwood, Vanilla, Caramel, Labdanum & Musk, Ambergris & Tonka Bean (from Xerjoff’s) I have seen this compared to many perfumes and I disagree everything what comes to the next ones which I own: Richwood and Angel’s Share. You can find my reviews of those too. I don’t see this same kind of like PDM Oajan, TF Tobacco Vanille or Kilian Black Phantom or Xerjoff Golden Dallah either. Those I have been testing a lot. Of course there is some notes together but honestly I don’t see any of those redundant if you have some of those. But we have to remember that all of us experience scents in very own personal way so we can’t judge other people’s opinions. Symptuous leather and ylang ylang. I managed to find a box set with two 15ml bottles, and it's a bittersweet victory, as I immediately love it, and I know I probably won't be able to find any more (for a price I'm willing to pay). The peach and ylang-ylang are very complimentary, and I think this combination, plus the cardamom, prevents the tropical, banana-like side of the ylang from coming through (I like that but there's a time and a place, plus it makes this perfume more unique). The rich warmth of the amber base boosts the fruit into opulence rather than gourmandise, and there's the playful neroli peeping over the top to give it a charming flourish that makes me thing it's gonna be great for spring and possibly even cooler summer days. The ambergris isn't strong but it is there, hinting at the open sea. And, oh!... as it develops, the strong leather comes in. It's almost chocolatey somehow, like maybe a gourmand leather feel, wow. There's a lot to take in here, but it's incredible and inspired. Update: In hot weather, the heady white/yellow florals come to the fore, almost pissy, but compelling and lovely, kind of like Carnal Flower, but with the leather undercurrent. After several wears in various weather conditions, to me this isn't amber, it's leather floral. It's pretty dense and loud, but it's unique and still has the little bit of Guerlain magic.
Unisex (leaning male) Fragrance story: “Smoldering with addictive sensuality, a burning splash of rich dark rum defines the opening, its sweet gourmand chord is softened by creamy vanilla and dried fruit. Spicy patchouli pairs with the fresh, woodsy scent of cedarwood to finish, finding animalic harmony at long last.” (From website) My thoughts of this scent Addictive sexuality: I find this perfume really sexy. It’s really seductive and amazingly unisex. Rich dark Rum: Rum is really soft and well blended. It’s like from very old barrel making boozy note luxurious instead of harsh cheap Rum. It’s boozy but not in the sharp way. It makes this perfume interesting. Nutmeg and Vanilla makes Rum to linger in sophisticated way and even if it’s listed in the opening I can get sensual Rum vibe all the time. It’s sweet gourmand: There is just right amount of sweetness to make this blend a pleasant experience but this definitely is not sweet like mostly gourmands are. I don’t even think this as a gourmand. Vanilla makes other notes soft but it’s so well blended there that I don’t detect it as gourmand way. Finding animalic harmony: Since I’m a big fan of animalic scents this is definitely not animalic. There is Musk but it’s rather soft Musk in the base together with Patchouli and Cedarwood so don’t be afraid of any animalic vibes here. The only animalic thing which I get here is that if my husband wear this I feel an extra animalic, addictive, sexual attraction to him. 💁🏽♀️😅🔥 I highly recommend to sample and this maybe needs time to grow on you. I had many samples, didn’t like it first but I took it once again and since that I have loved this scent so much.❤️🔥 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
“Sayat Nova is a fragrance inspired by the legendary 18thCentury Armenian poet and troubadour of that name. The scent evokes the romantic mysticism of exotic lands and bygone centuries. This exceptional creation fuses dark and intense woody tones with rich and luscious sweetness. Like the famous balladeer himself, Sayat Nova inspires images of romance, opulence and unbridled passion.” -a note from the brand. That note from the brand is exactly what this creation is. This scent is really unique and I'm sure there won't be another one like it. Apricot and Narcissus in the opening creates an irresistible combination with rum and vanilla which are the middle notes. Those together with flowery aromas create an auspicious combination and nuance in a high-quality Oud base, which is a composition of ouds from Laos, Bengal and Trat. Oakmoss in the base brings the classic earthy nuance. There is a strong smoky feeling in this scent which is not a tobacco kind of. That smoke stays there all the time until the end and it's truly unique and a way too much for many. This perfume is really complex, it’s challenging, definitely not for beginners and everytime I wear it I experience something new. The lasting power is amazing, eternal. Sayat Nova is strongly male leaning, there is nothing feminine in it but I think it's beautiful regardless. Be aware that the juice is very dark and oily so it can't be washed away from light clothes. I only wear black or brown with this scent and the latter one describes this scent best. “A high concentration of perfume oils ensures great tenacity and the natural ingredients allow the fragrance to evolve and reveal many subtle, complex and beautiful nuances upon each application. Those who enjoy sweet and sumptuous scents and those who adore the endless intricacies of oud will find much in which to delight.” In this case I partly wanted to quote the company's description of the fragrance, because my own English is not good enough to describe this artistic fragrance as it deserves. This is a diamond 💎 💎 💎 💎 💎 > IF YOU HAVE THIS AND STÉPHANE HUMBERT LUCAS’ Mango Kiss, try that combo: it’s amazing! XERJOFF: Indochine Oud Stars Collection Nose: Chris Maurice Unisex I love and respect this perfume even if it’s a synthetic mess. 😅 If I smell this when it’s too warm for this scent I hate it and I’m thinking to sell it straight away. Today when it’s-10c it treated me better. There is missing nothing and there is nothing too much - the perfume is a great strange blend of fruits, flowers, musk and oud. This opens up with a juicy fruity strawberry splash which is a little bit shampoo like and harsh first. Strawberry as a note is difficult as well to keep there after an opening but I can get a hint of it for long time and it gets better after 30 min. Flowers start to shine quickly after the opening as well but this is not rosy one even if the rose is there. Other notes are so strong that if you think this is rosy oud, it’s not. This is fruity and sweet, a little bit tropical even if those kind of notes are not listed, but definitely this is a strong scent and oud (feels very synthetic as well) is really present all the time in this. The sweet note is not sugary or syrupy one, not even from vanilla, it comes from fruits. I don’t get any Vanilla vibe from this. And what comes to the longevity: it’s eternal. This is a unique blend and maybe a little bit challenging one but not because of Oud - this can be cloying and too sweet. Somehow it’s addictive and if you like fruity ouds, you should definitely sample this! Top: Strawberry, Pink Pepper & Freesia, Brasilian Orange Middle: Muguet & Peony, Bulgarian Rose Base: Blend Of Ouds, Agarwood & Musk, Vanilla Madagascar (From Xerjoff site) Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
