Monday SOTD: Armani Acqua Di Giò Absolu – Giorgio Armani Perfume

Hey everyone,

Starting my Monday with Armani Acqua Di Gio Absolu, one of my favorite picks from the Giorgio Armani perfume line. It feels like the perfect scent to kick off a new week with confidence and a fresh mindset.

Right from the opening, I get that clean marine freshness mixed with a touch of citrus, which instantly feels energizing. As it settles, the fragrance becomes smoother and warmer with woody notes and a slight sweetness that adds depth without being overpowering. It’s a really nice balance between fresh and rich, making it super versatile.

What I like most is how wearable it is—it works great for the office, casual outings, or even a relaxed evening. The performance has been pretty solid for me too, lasting several hours with a noticeable but not overwhelming projection.

Overall, it gives off a modern, masculine vibe that feels both classy and easygoing at the same time. Definitely a go-to when I want something reliable and refreshing.

I’ve always been fascinated by fragrances, and lately I’ve been exploring some classic perfumes. One that really stands out is Chanel No. 5 perfume. Even though it’s been around for over a century, it still feels timeless and elegant.

What I love about Chanel perfumes in general, like Chanel perfume, is how they balance sophistication with versatility. Chanel No. 5, in particular, has this perfect mix of floral, aldehydic, and warm notes that make it feel luxurious without being overwhelming. A few sprays last all day, and the scent really leaves an impression.

It’s interesting how Chanel manages to keep their fragrances relevant even in 2026. Whether for everyday wear or special occasions, their perfumes seem to maintain that iconic status, probably because of the quality, heritage, and elegance behind every bottle.

I am not sure how I feel about this one. I liked it a lot in the beginning, it smelled fresh and citrusy, but the dry-down has something that threatens to become repulsive. There is something vaguely off in this combination of strong Orange peel with very warm Resins, Sandalwood and Incense. I can also barely trace the Caramel on my skin. I would definitely not wear it in warm weather.

People say it’s very basil forward but I don’t get that, I get a very earthy (yet fresh, not dirty) and I get that vetiver vibe which I like.

Arquiste Architects Club is a sophisticated vanilla chypre with salt-spray Atlantic air crispness at the back end, which makes me think of an upper-crust aristocratic party on board a yacht in international waters, posh people drinking gin and tonics. Maybe a woman in cabin 10 fell overboard. Maybe there's a mystery. Maybe not; maybe it ends as a very intimate vanilla-skin scent.

Last Season smells like what lives a bit deeper underneath the forest floor, the private teeming dark where mycelium threads wind through soil and small creatures conduct their business and pleasure and what-have-you under stones. Turn over a log, and there is a damp organic exhale, a little sneezy-shocking, a little sweet, something that was quietly happening without you and will resume the moment you put the log back. There is almost a campfire quality to it, not fire exactly, not the flame or the heat, but rather the ash settling back into earth, smoke absorbed into whorled bark and cool moss, and the soft bodies of things. This is the world Rien Poortvliet painted with such weird, goodnatured curious devotion, gnome lore, the integration of decay and domesticity, a hearth fragrant with leaf rot and good dark earth, a home where the worms are neighbors and the beetles are confidants and the mold on the rafters has been there longer than anyone can remember and belongs there, it practically holds the place together! This particular gnome has a tender heart and a melancholy streak and knows all the words to all the Cavetown and Haley Heynderickx songs and probably writes poetry about the smell of rain in autumn, the silhouette of a lone, tremulous dandelion on a late summer evening.

Ellen Hutter sits on the bench at the edge of the grey sea, waiting, and out on the horizon, where her husband should be, where Nosferatu's shadow should be gathering ... there is Fozzy Bear. Frothy salt mist and soft warm musk, woolly and faintly ridiculous and ridiculously sincere. Ginger and turmeric filtered through static, the way a signal travels over water on a small television in a dim room, present but softened into grain. The scene is melancholy. The ocean is grey. Fozzy is way out there, doing his best.
