This doesn't smell bad but it is very weird. The initial hit is so aromatic and herbal as to make your nose burn. The rosemary dominates and linked with the lavender it gives hospital vibes. There is a very lite briny smell at the beginning but I think saying it smells like caviar is a stretch. Overall, not sure why anyone would want to smell like this.
Jorum Studio's Gorseland is a convergence of many paths of light blazing through the borderlands between cultivated and wild, where neon-bright blooms stun with their electric intensity. While I spend my days mostly indoors, I've traveled countless wild paths through spellbinding nature writer Robert MacFarlane's writing, where his luminous prose captures the poetry of wild places, showing how ancient ways and old growth persist alongside us, part of our daily world rather than separate from it. This scent unfolds like one of these vicarious journeys: sharp-edged and biting in the high places, then deepening to a piercing sourness in the shadows of valley-bottom herbs. The shock of fluorescent petals never quite settles as you climb higher, maintaining their strange luminosity even as shoots twist upward with their raw, cutting brightness. Eventually, softer notes emerge - the apple-sweet fluff of chamomile and grassy vanilla whispers of woodruff - like finding an unexpected meadow after a steep climb. In this scent, the air crackles with the voltage of growing things, refusing our attempts at categorization - too bright, too fierce, too alive to be contained.
This is my favorite from the LV line but it‘s overpriced for what it is and how it performs. Get around 4-5 hours before it becomes a skin scent.
Dune from Christian Dior is a misty, windswept shore of lonely paths lined with bracken, gorse, and heather leading to treacherous cliffs, where there lurches a corrupt and crumbling old inn. The sort of lodgings preferred by smugglers and murderers-- a place where dead men tell no tales. Perfume critic Luca Turin believes that true menacing darkness is found in this fragrance and that it's a strong contender for the “bleakest beauty in all perfumery.” My creepy goblin heart is dreadfully influenced by this sort of hyperbole and after reading that over a decade ago… I had purchased a bottle within milliseconds.
Great value for money. Doesn't smell cheap at all
An amazing and unique fragrance
The opening of Ciao Amore is very green, bitter and natural Orange Blossom and Fig leaves, not fruit. It's too sharp and a tad too potent for too long (for my taste) even to the point where I wouldn't be able to wear the scent and every time wait for a one hour until it evolves and become softer, more beautiful and rounded. I like Fig leaves and I love Orange Blossom but unfortunately this combination here doesn't work and the pleasant dry down is not enough to save it. I like Dioriviera and Philosykos but this is not for me. Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my unexceptional short review. Couldn't wear it more to analyse it more deeply. I would appreciate if you follow my IG: @ninamariah_perfumes It gives me a lot of motivation to write more. 🤗
I'm sorry but I can't write an in-depth review of this one like I did of La Baguette and Dolce Bacio. This is not my style at all. Notes look great but there is too much intense leather, too less sweetness and Cherry is almost totally hidden. There is a gentle smoke over the darkness which is actually the best part of this scent. I love perfumes with leather but here it's so linear and somewhat stale. "Casa Grande" does not refer here to something grand, comfortable, and beloved, but specifically to a large home full of musty old leather furniture and the residents have left long ago. The windows have not been opened for years. There should be a sweetness in Cherry, Vanilla and even in Myrrh but nothing has been achieved from such a wonderful three notes in this fragrance. I don't care Guerlain's Cherry Oud either but it's a way much better opinion than this one. The longevity is great, the sillage is moderate and the scent is definitely masculine. Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review. I would appreciate if you follow my IG: @ninamariah_perfumes It gives me a lot of motivation to write more. 🤗
Most of older Amouages are complex and multifaceted and Overture Woman is in that same level. So many different traits are sweetly mixed in the scent. At first it amazes you with its bold and enigmatic side, it’s like a big mystery. It’s like a magic wand which put a spell on you and you don’t understand straight away what has happened. Overture Man is full of very realistic notes and personally Overture woman has been somewhat abstract to my nose since the beginning. It’s delicious and almost syrupy but still it’s not edible. It clearly reminds me of fruity apples and has boozy vibe in it but I have never tasted Calvados which has this kind of aroma. I mean this is utterly irresistible and I’m not a good friend with Calvados. Together with the elegance of Saffron in the opening it seamlessly combines with warmth and sophistication from the heart where Benzoin, Myrrh and Cinnamon create a golden aura and a subtle rosy touch offers a tiny hint of feminine elegance. Leathery base with Labdanum and Amouage's signature Incense is seductive and completes the fragrance as a completely unisex. The whole concoction is rich, polished and refined, everything in it intertwines perfectly. The scent is like a beautiful melody that lingers in your head even after the music itself has stopped. It is unforgettable. Like Overture Man, Overture Woman truly shines during the festive season and especially during Christmas time. The longevity is great, around 8 hours and the sillage is strong. Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review. I would appreciate if you follow my IG: @ninamariah_perfumes It gives me a lot of motivation to write more. 🤗
Patchouli Paris is Guerlain’s newest release and an interesting new member to their overtly expensive luxury lineup - does it belong? I’m not so sure. To clarify, it’s a very nice patchouli scent - but for the price, and from a house such as Guerlain, I expected a whole lot more. The patchouli is as you might expect, notably earthy and bitter, yet maintaining a soft creamy nature which highlights those chocolatey facets associated with the material. Very gentle touches of ambergris, Iris and aldehydes give the scent some lift, making it appear cleaner and more palatable. It’s a very simple scent, and if you’re looking for a good patchouli and nothing else - this could be a contender, although you could likely find better for less money. I like it, but I’m not impressed with it.
La Fille de Berlin or, ‘The Girl from Berlin’, is one of the most beautiful rose fragrances currently on the market in my humble opinion. However, it’s also a very simple scent - focusing entirely on the supple beauty of the rose flower, or a young girl of Berlin which you struggle to erase from your memory. The rose is bright and soapy, it epitomises the clean and sweet characteristics perfectly. It’s gorgeously clean and delicate, whilst remaining quite noticeably pulpy and stemmy. It doesn’t resemble the annoyingly cloying, jammy roses which you see quite often these days. It undeniably feels as though it was inspired by Guerlain’s Nahema, even if only loosely. A stunningly simplistic rose like this is a must have in everyone’s collection in my opinion, as a reference point of what a great rose scent is and can be, at the very least.
I’ve never been a fan of mint fragrances, it’s a note I very rarely get along with. If I’m being honest, Enclave is no different - if you like mint then it’s a good fragrance, but it’s not for me. It comes off too scratchy for me, there doesn’t seem to be much balance of refinement here. The mint is obviously the main player here, it’s sharp and refreshing, like toothpaste. The other big presence here is the Amber Xtreme, which unfortunately is responsible for that nasty scratchy aspect which I can’t ignore. There’s a hint of spices and pink pepper but the other notes struggle to make themselves known amongst the mint and Amber Xtreme. This simply isn’t a fragrance for me, which I sort of expected going into this because I already know I don’t like mint in perfume. But for those that do, it’s worth checking out. I don’t think it’s anything special though.
Interlude Black Iris was a fragrance I had always thoroughly enjoyed on a strip, but upon testing it on skin it feels like an entirely different scent - and not one I particularly enjoy. It unfortunately smells very flat and lifeless on my skin, which is a shame because I wanted to love this so badly. Orris is my favourite note of all time, and it’s in nice large doses here. Not only does it capture that powdery, creamy element but also the earthy, nutty nature which is elevated by the resins, leather and patchouli. The leather is far more dominant than I remember, but not in a particularly good way. That’s pretty much all I get; a slightly powdery orris, alongside sort of scratchy resins and leather. I feel deflated, I was so looking forward to giving this a proper test and was sure I’d adore it. It just goes to show how different things can smell in store, my final verdict is that this is painfully overrated and in fact, not a very good perfume at all. I will be taking this off my wishlist.
Great value for its price tag. Super versatile, suitable for school/office/sporting activities/dining out.
The One for Men EDP is associated with elegance and class. A masterpiece with an affordable price.
Davidoff Cool Water Eau de Toilette is a very refreshing and clean scent that is perfect for the summer. The price is affordable.
This fragrance is definitely unique and not for everyone. It's a bit on the darker side, but it's also elegant and sophisticated. If you're looking for something different that will make you stand out from the crowd, this is definitely worth checking out.
An extremely strong and masculine fragrance for men. It lasts 10+ hours on my skin with a very loud projection.
Unique smell but won’t preject really.
Majestic smell, but it won’t last that much. It’s like, going out by night, either clubbing or partying. If it only lasted longer...
Love the smell, it reminds me of my grandfather’s ranch and all the orange trees he used to have. Kinda melancholic for me, thats why I like it, even tho it won’t last more than 2 hours maybe, and with very poor silage. Does not deserve more than 3 stars because of this.
Sophisticated. I still have my doubts, its hard to find it appealing.
Nice smell But it lasts half an hour.
I Love it, reminds me the smell of a library near my house. Just by seeing the notes the smell comes to my head.
Bomb.
