1. What scent are you wearing today and what made you pick this one?

by Profumum Roma. It’s snowy and cold here. Smoky and coniferous felt appropriate.

2. Do you remember the first time you started wearing perfume purposefully? To feel a certain way or to bring back a memory.

I worked at a pet store when I was 16 and this woman used to come in with her little bichon frises and she alway smelled fantastic. I asked her what she was wearing, and she told me it was a new perfume called . That Friday I took my little pet store paycheck to the mall and purchased my first grown-up bottle. Its been in rotation since, I just can’t quit the nostalgia of it. I still reach for it a couple times a month and it brings me back to my personal perfume origin story.

I also keep a bottle of Chanel. I don’t wear it often but when I do it smells just like hugging my mother. It smells like a hug.

3. The fragrance world is experiencing a gourmand boom, what's your opinion on this trend? Any predictions on where we'll be going next?

I think everybody needs comfort right now. And while I don’t think Gourmands are going away anytime soon, I’m predicting a return to the Chypre. Old school, back to the roots. Grandma and grandpa scents and I can’t wait. There are already modern brands doing this so well right now. and come to mind.

4. If you could pick 3 perfumes, for the rest of your life, what would they be at this moment in time?

Don’t do this to me. Ok.. Diptyque , Naomi Goodsir , and . (3 stand-ins to cover more moods and bc I don’t follow the rules: Jouissance Les Cahiers Secrets, , and ).

5. Do you believe in "Signature scents"? Do you think it's truly possible to have one, if you're a part of this community?

I have multiple signatures. And they rotate in and out depending on mood, year, season, and season of life. My heavy hitters. I think this is the case for many people immersed in this hobby.

6. Pick one perfume for men and one for women, that you think could be a safe gift option to someone not interested in perfumes (let's say, for Christmas).

by Laboratorio Olfattivo, by Ormaie. These are both perfect, safe gifts for any gender.

7. What's your favourite thing about being part of this community? Instead of discussing bad things, let's focus on what's truly great, from your point of view. Favourite creators/reviewers?

The online fragrance community is incredible, specifically the Instagram based sect. I’m relatively new here, as I’ve been smelling, and reading, and collecting, and loving in fragrant solitude for many years.
