Olfactive Studio Close Up Review
Here's my Olfactive Studio Close Up Review. I received the Close Up final lab sample and I was excited to review Close Up after looking up the notes and finding out the perfumer behind the fragrance was Annick Menardo who I'm a big fan of. Annick Menardo has created many perfumes that I'm a huge fan of such as Bois D'Armenie by Guerlain and Bois D'Argent by Dior. Annick Menardo has been creating perfumes since the 90s so she's got a great following. So Close Up was very exciting to review.
Close Up starts out with Santos green coffee and spices and cherry. The spices are pretty big and take Close Up into an almost aromatic territory with the cherry giving it a slight gourmand touch. We then start picking up the white tobacco and patchouli with some cedar. The rose is not so potent on me. Immediately the musk takes over and this is my favorite thing about Close Up, the musk. The musk gives it a warm and fuzzy touch almost like a cat in your lap. It's animalic but not gross out kind just the right amount of animalic musk toned down by the other notes in the perfume.
Close Up is getting a release at a great time, here it is almost fall and Close Up is perfect to wear in the fall and winter. It's warm and cozy but big and bold. A great release by Olfactive Studio and this is immediately reached the top of the list of my favorites from Olfactive Studio which includes Chambre Noire and Ombre Indigo.
