Today, we’re diving into Muguet, also known as Lily of the Valley, one of the most iconic green floral notes in perfumery. Often labeled “vintage,” this note continues to appear in modern fragrances in fresh, creative ways, and when done right, it smells absolutely incredible.
In this video, I explore several fragrances that highlight Lily of the Valley, from the ultra-classic benchmark to more contemporary, green, and abstract interpretations. Since Lily of the Valley is a “fantasy note” that can’t be extracted naturally, perfumers recreate it using a blend of materials—and that’s where things get really interesting.
Expect everything from photorealistic floral bouquets to sharp green, vegetal compositions that feel like stepping into a spring garden after the rain.
