Houbigant is one of perfumery’s oldest houses, and still surprisingly feisty. In this deep dive. I cover 21 fragrances, ranging from the classics (Fougère Royale, Quelques Fleurs) to the modern lines (red bottles like Ambre Rubis, Rose du Désert, Vanille Impériale). What still smells royal, what’s been modernized well, and what’s just… fine.
My standouts: Fougère Royale (EDP - Extrait for value), Patchouli Sauvage, Quelques Fleurs Jardin Secret (both EDP & Extrait), Quelques Fleurs Royale Parfum, Bois Mystique, Orangers en Fleurs (EDP). Ombre Rubis is the cherry bomb that actually works.
