An incredible vetiver scent with better performance than it first seems.... I'm not a huge Bertie fan but this one is wonderful, and it doesn't smell like Guerlain Vetiver any more than any one vetiver scent smells like another. In fact I'd say this one is a lot more original than most. Perfect for a rainy, cold autumn day, to add a sparkle and shimmer to the grim, grey surroundings. Today it's raining constantly I Paris and I'm out and about, and this little gem is giving me a spritz of joy as I go between my meetings.

Old non-magnetic cap is a magical spice explosion that dries down wonderfully to a creamy sandlewood heavy base, newer version is still good, but nowhere near as magical. As this one didn't survive long enough to get the flat boxes, you have to be careful which one you buy (especially with the prices now). I have 100ml of newer version, which, OK fine I'll wear it, no problem, and 25ml of the precious, wondrous original vintage with clip cap. I'll be heartbroken when that's gone.

Sim, este perfume não veio para brincadeiras. É um ataque na abertura, e como outros já disseram, cheira a um scotch de Islay turfoso, mas isso rapidamente se acalma e dá lugar a um oud muito seco, escuro e sério, com vibrações amadeiradas e incensadas, em vez de funk de celeiro. Depois de ler as outras resenhas aqui, eu esperava muita baunilha, mas não posso dizer que isso está me dando. No papel, sinto mais a baunilha e me lembra de Fall Into Stars, mas na pele é totalmente diferente. É muito complexo, cada inalação me dá algo diferente, e o oud é forte e real. De fato, me pego pensando 6 inalações de 10 que cheira a puro óleo de oud, mas então sinto um sopro de bebida e/ou baunilha e um âmbar giratório (embora ainda esteja completamente seco). É um amor, mas definitivamente não será um perfume para borrifadas despreocupadas diárias. Atualização: Estou realmente gostando do drydown agora e é muito viciante. Posso entender os comentários negativos e ver por que as pessoas não gostariam disso, especialmente se elas gostam dos ouds enfeitados e brilhantes desta marca, que eu também amo, mas isso arranha algum tipo de coceira específica para mim, esse desejo pelo oud mais escuro e mais oud, bem, isso é. Se você está cansado de ser informado, "sim, isso é oud, mas não se preocupe porque é realmente acessível e blá blá blá" ESTE é o oud para você. Este é um oud que queimará os pelos das suas narinas e permanecerá em seus pensamentos depois que você o usar, mas sem ser agressivo, ofensivo ou sintético. É uma classe à parte, mas uma com uma presença ousada. Não é couro, mas posso imaginar que irá agradar aqueles que amam fragrâncias realmente fortes, nobres e de couro.

Almost violetty with the combination of cardamom, rose, orris, ylang and sandlewood with a sort of dusty quality. The sandalwood is buttery and undulating, a real marvel. Unmistakable Chong-era Amouage class and gall.

Pólen esquisito. Um campo floral fotorealista único e adorável, com um toque de sal e muito pólen amarelo nebuloso.

Not too keen on the opening, which smells divine, but like a divine orange oil, not like a perfume. But then it dries down to a sumptuous orangery, jasminey, creamy amber. Lovely! 0 fig, 0 tea BTW.

On paper (figuratively) this is everything I usually hate in a perfume. Fruit, tiare, jarring notes, chocolate with fruit. The initial spray in store onto card gave me a HEEELL no reaction, but then it insinuated itself into my every thought for days on end. I got hold of a sample and wore it to go for a long walk in a huge park during summer, and it was incredíble. I used the sample up over the next couple of days. Now I have a full bottle, and after a couple of months I was hesitant, fearing I might hate it, but no, it's amazing. As everyone says, it's on the line between ripe and putrid, but that's exactly why it works. It's what saves it from being a teenage, frivolous cheapie. It's unlike anything else, and alongside M/Mink is the only thing worth bothering with from Byredo.

Bland and weak. This brand is a joke. They have a couple of interesting scents (Cuir and Musc) but even they are offensively overpriced. Santal Basmati is boring. For this money you can get a masterpiece that will move you every time you smell it. This is anodyne blah for people with money, no knowledge of what they're buying, and a desire to splurge.
