This is a blockbuster of a fruit fragrance. Tropical fruit and sea air, like drinking fruit punch on a hot, sandy beach. It’s powerful, persistent, fairly linear and probably the best guava scent you’re ever going to smell outside of a fruit market. Go, seek this out, and enjoy!
This brand revel in the immediate excitement and reminiscent fondness of travel, with fragrances that transport the wearer to beautiful, exotic places from around the globe. Here is another recent addition to the line, a leather perfume for those treasured souls caught up in the romance and magic of wanderlust. Beyond the Pashtun Summit begins with one of the best openings I’ve ever experienced. The blend of pomegranate, davana and hashish in the top is quite unique, the kind of opening that inspires your senses. Despite its extravagance, the oud plays a supporting role, rather than existing noticeably in the foreground. Its existence is woven into the patchwork of scenes, smells and experiences of the beautiful mountain pass, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For me, this is a non linear boujie boho kind of joint that will appeal to fans of Byredo, yet without the divisive minimalist aesthetic. It’s a complex, smoky leather, with chewing tobacco and some hazy, intoxicating smoke that feels grassy, like some crazy zeut-laced immortelle. When perfumery ceaselessly chases art for arts sake, it can often result in a scent that is astonishing yet peculiar, rendering the work something to behold rather than wear. With Pashtun, the art and storytelling of global exploration is balanced by a stunning wearability. A new favourite in my collection.
Wow, interesting. I’ve got a 2ml tester and I have never smelled anything like this before. It opens green, with a big hit of herbs. Basil is in the notes, but it seemed more general to me. There’s a hint of mint and clove, the blending of which adds a sense of liquorice. It evolves after that first hit to remind me of a green Fahrenheit. Then the warmth comes in with tobacco and amber. It’s unique. I like it a lot. An excellent bad boy signature scent to accessorise a leather jacket and a worn all-saints tee.
This was a blind buy on a snap decision soon after its release. I’d been eyeing up Greek Keys and Atlante from this house. It starts with a spritzy, effervescent lemon on a base of fluffy clouds. Once the oils dry down, the beachy, marine fragrances come to the fore and I have to tell you, it is not unlike aqva di sale at this stage, which I like a lot. There’s a similar Myrtle note and you can smell the warm sand. It really is like walking along a wild beach. I will come back to this after a few days of wearing. Currently it’s a very strong like, but I feel like it could develop into a love if we get a good run of decent weather (UK). The bottle is unique and a wonderful addition to my collection.
This smells like dark matter at the bottom of an ocean. It’s an interesting, grown up aquatic with a bit of filth and a gorgeous sillage. One of those fragrances you have to smell in the air, rather than digging your nose into it. If you love adg Profumo but want something even darker and more brooding, try this. I love it.
Bought following the hype train and I’m sure I was nose blind to it. It just appeared to smell like pear drops candy to me. For a long while it sat on the shelf gathering dust. I wrote a negative review of it. Meh. And then I gave it a chance. And the day after that I wore it again. And again. And again and again. I started to get it. I grasped it’s beauty. And it became my daily scent. I wear it everyday to the office. It has this boss-like aura. Puts you in that alpha mind set. And I’m no longer nose blind to it. I get the incense, the salty aquatic. It glimmers, like golden sunlight pushing through the murky depths. And it’s refined and smells so fine; technically excellent. I’ve been searching for an aquatic fragrance that i like more than this and I’m yet to find one. Most aqua scents either smell sporty or have too much seaweed. ADGp walks that fine line and at the same time delivers something so beautiful, wearable, stunning. Follow me on Instagram: @TheScentiest
Love at first sniff. An ephemeral summer stunner. Follow me on Instagram: @TheScentiest
I received a sample of Ambre Royal by Ormonde Jayne and fell in love with the scent. Finding out there is an extrait version available, I simply had to have a full bottle. For me, this is the definition of what perfume should be. RE smells so glamorous and luxurious. The notes combine into an almost leathery vibe, reminiscent of an expensive couture designer handbag. It’s masterfully blended yet searching deeper I get the jasmine and orchid that lend a bitterness, and this is given texture by a powdery orris note. Lots of naturals here, it oozes quality. Performance is strong. Two squirts and I’m bubbled in an arm-length cloud of beauty which lasts for hours. It’s an addictive, sexy and intoxicating scent. It smells monied and leans slightly feminine to my nose, although my girlfriend wore it and found it too masculine for her taste. First impression was that it was too strong and heady for my liking. But as it calms down it turns into this creamy santal with vanilla which is calming and absolutely gorgeous. I would wear this while out walking on a cold winters day and it would feel perfect. Follow me on Instagram: @TheScentiest
My co worker walked into our large open plan office this morning and immediately exclaimed ‘it stinks in here’. These molecules like to travel. I like the frag. It’s a bit sweaty, like giving your brother a hug and realising he hasn’t showered yet. But yeah, he’s your bro and you love him, so it’s ok. Max two squirts for the office. Definitely not four, ok?
