AMOUAGE Ashore Mackenzie Reilly 2020 Feminine Sometimes it’s difficult to find a realistic review of some Amouage’s perfumes. I think the reason for that is that people who love Amouage are always used to get something extraordinary, something special and/or something artistic. That’s why technically great is not enough and on the other hand some amazing scent is not so popular because it doesn’t meet the right people. When I bought Ashore (blindly) I was thinking that it’s too cold weather for it. It didn’t really make any wow effect on me but mostly people like it in hot weather so I was thinking to wait next summer. Anyway I was spraying it on me the other day and I fell totally in love with it. Beautiful bright and soft Jasmine which is not heady at all. It’s somewhat transparent and minimalistic, it’s even quite linear and easy. It feels fresh and warm and I feel that I have worn some Jasmine scent during the day, spent a beautiful sunny summer day on the beach and been swimming in a salty Mediterranean Sea. That’s how it smells - Jasmine with sun and clean sea water - solar notes and salty feeling. It’s beautiful. It’s like a scent of a mermaid. 🧜♀️ I think I will wear Ashore a lot during the next summer. The longevity is easily 12 hours and it’s not too strong, absolutely office safe. Top: Pink Pepper, Cardamom Oil, Turmeric Leaf Oil Heart: Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Solar Accord, Rose Absolute Base: Ambergris Accord, Olibanum Hyperabsolute, Sandalwood Oil Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
NARCISO RODRIGUEZ Pure Musk for Her Sonia Constant 2019 🤍🤍🤍 So beautiful clean florals and musk. Delicate and tender, fluffy and very innocent yet seductive. Scent of an angel. Scent of a hope. Scent of the bright future. It’s like opening your eyes in the morning when the sun is shining through the window. You have your beautiful lingerie on, you put your soft slides on and the softest luxurious long cashmere cardigan which you have. It’s a cozy hug with very relaxing breeze. Pure Musk is not soapy neither powdery. It is “transparent” compared to cubes (Poudree and Rouge) which are creamy with richer texture. Since this scent is beautifully simple I don't even try to describe it in a complex way. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
AMOUAGE INTERLUDE BLACK IRIS MAN Pierre Negrin 2020 I know that many of you are curious and first I have to say: I don’t like og Interlude at all. Leather is too harsh for me and it’s very traditionally masculine. Unfortunately I don’t even want to test it side by side. This is very different even if there is some softer dna of og left. Black Iris, however, is truly unisex but I find it to be more unique on women. Don’t get me wrong, it’s gorgeous on men and a quality is amazing, but on men it’s not so bewitching. I mean it doesn’t scream a masculinity. For men it’s as well more like “an easy reach” even if the blend itself is masterfully made and I don’t know anything else like it. Black Iris is dark and mysterious. It fits with an outfit of sexy rock style stiletto heels paired with leggings and oversized woolen pullover. The scent feels soft, smooth and sensual. It’s gorgeous with combat boots paired with a feminine dress and a leather jacket. It’s definitely a confidence boost but it’s for a confident woman as well. It’s amazing choice to pair with a suit for work since despite being very long lasting it doesn’t project in the way which bothers others around you. There is a powdery, velvety texture from Orris, sweetness from resins, softness from Vanilla, deepness from woods and polished, sumptuous feeling from gentle leather and a smoke of Oud. Some may find the opening pungent because of Rosemary but I love it. It’s a fleeting moment of my childhood - fresh, green needles - and it lasts only few minutes. Sleek and uniquely charming! Top: Bergamot, Rosemary, Violet Leaves Hearth: Orris, Amber, Frankincense, Cistus, Myrrh, Vanilla Base:Leather, Agarwood Smoke, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cedarwood Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I have some scents - like a pair- which are perfect to wear for couples. ❤️ This is the first pair. The best classical timeless Chypres inspired by vintage Mitsouko! ✨ If you want to buy a totally new bottle and the budget is not limited I highly recommend to try these ones before buying a new version of Mitsouko or Rochas Femme. Those are nice as well but these are so incredible amazing ones with extraordinary quality! The classy well blended complexity which is hard to find. ROJA PARFUMS 🖤 DIAGHILEV Very strong and majestic, deep and rich blend, a challenging to wear for many. This one definitely needs the right kind of clothes, otherwise you look and smell totally ridiculous. Yet, I see in my eyes a handsome man after a bath in Versace bathrobe. 🤩 Sharp and spicy, leathery and musky, mossy with a gentle touch of animalics - everything in this scent is heavy. So GORGEOUS! Main notes: - Lemon, Bergamot, Lime, Orange, Tarragon - Jasmin de Grasse, Tuberose, Heliotrope, Violet, Blackcurrant Buds, Peach - Patchouli, Oakmoss, Benzoin, Labdanum, Leather 💜 CHYPRÉ EXTRAORDINAIRE Soft and fruity, sophisticated and subtle, very refined yet addictive and complex beautiful scent. This is brighter and lighter (not weak) than Diaghilev and a little bit sweet. This is like a sun and Diaghilev is like a moon. This is like a queen and Diaghilev is like a king. There is amazing mossy base with Civet and Musk but animalic vibe is absence. Totally in love with this delicate yet well projecting scent. Definitely a year around scent for me. Main notes: - Bergamot - Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, Peach, Plum - Moss Base, Cedarwood, Sandalwood The in depth reviews coming later! LOVE MIMOSA based on a sample (3 wearing) If I’m just thinking how Mimosa smells I would never choose this scent. Anyway this scent is refreshing and sweet in the same time as I can find there a fresh aquatic note blended together with a sweetness from Pear and Ylang-Ylang like sweet powdery Mimosa as well. This really smells like a spring turning into summer. Mimosa is strong only in the opening, after that it blends with other notes in the perfect way. Not so unique but very versatile and non offensive scent. Not so much Amouage like I have used to but I enjoy this one regardless. This is feminine scent and could be worn easily in the office. Amouage’s complexity is absence. I will write an in depth review if I will buy a FB, I haven't decided yet. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Based on a sample: Beautiful very natural smelling Vanilla. It’s sumptuous and airy, it’s fluffy and somehow light yet not watery in any kind of way. Mimosa makes that feeling but the scent of Mimosa is pretty much absent. I’m not a gourmand lover and I enjoy this scent a lot. This is not so edible like some other vanilla perfumes. Brown sugar as a note luckily doesn’t perform like that on my skin. This is sweet but not overly cloying sticky sugar bomb, it’s cheerful and uplifting. Somehow in the strange way it reminds me of Kayali Vanilla 28 but not the same as a scent, I don’t even like that one so much, Fire At Will is more special and classy imo. Definitely one of my favorite “clear” Vanillas. This perfume is full bottle worthy and I will write an in-depth review after buying a FB. In based on the sample: This is beautiful, very pleasant Musk covered with honey like sweetness. One of the easiest scent (quite linear as well) from FB but in the same time so soft and subtle that I barely can smell it after an opening. That doesn’t bother me at all, I love some skin scents but the longevity is the problem at least on my skin. I tried this for days and always the same problem, I barely smell it after 30-60 minutes. Iris is hidden bringing only a powdery feel. Animalic notes are tamed and very easily approachable. I would say that if you don’t like FB perfumes there is a chance that you like this one. I wanted to buy this so badly but the bottle would be quickly finished because I should respray all the time. Anyway, I highly recommend you to try this, if it stays longer on your skin, it’s more than perfect Musk! Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
AMOUAGE Figment Woman Dorothée Piot 2017 (Not Karine Vinchon-Spehner like mentioned here) This is an absolutely amazing unique and artistic perfume like nothing else I have smelled and it’s totally underrated. White florals are done here in a mysterious way, they are covered with many different notes which each of them bring different kind of earthy and fresh feeling to the rich white floral heart. Figment Woman opens up with beautiful earthy menthol like freshness and a sharp peppery kick. Gardenia and Saffron together make it intoxicating and I think the menthol feeling - it’s just a feeling, not like you would have a menthol pastil in your mouth - comes from greenish Gardenia. Smell of the soil is absence which is not the case in Figment Man (gorgeous scent as well though but more challenging). In the heart together with white flowers you can feel an intense spicy and aromatic aroma from Cassia which is sometimes Cinnamon-like but here it doesn’t develop into that level. Papyrus in the base is very powerful and it turns the earthy vibe into dry smoke which is transparent and clean, not like from T***cco. Incense - Amouage’s signature note - finishes the base together with Patchouli and Orris. White florals are VERY unique and evocative. The whole concoction is crispy and cold. Despite of an extraordinary scent profile which can be polarising I don’t think this is offensive and therefore this can be worn easily at work too. This works as well year around like in different kind of temperatures as well. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I was so curious about this one since I see it so often in IG. The opening of this perfume is amazing. It's something quite unique what comes to designers but even niche Vanilla perfumes. Vanilla, Lavender, cacao and Ginger works together perfectly creating absolutely interesting and surprising combination. Vanilla comes through but it makes me to want to smell it more to understand the combination. It's fresh yet warm in the same time. Anyway unfortunately all that fresh and mysterious Vanilla is gone after 20 minutes and there is left only very general and mass appealing Vanilla which has made a thousand times before. It's not bad, it's cozy and comforting but it's very boring and all the people who love Vanilla perfumes has this scent in their collection already unless you have just started your collection. I would see myself wearing this for sleeping but I definitely won't buy it. If the notes in the opening would be the middle notes, this would be one of the best Vanilla scent I have ever tried. FREDERIC MALLE 🥀 Portrait of A Lady 🥀 (named after the novel by Henry James from the 1881) Dominique Ropion 2010 Totally unisex I wore this one of the best dark rose scent yesterday evening. Straight away after spraying the scent filled all the living room and my husband who was in the kitchen came to say “ wooow, what is this scent, amazing, it’s everywhere here”. This is always a magical, mysterious and so elegant scent. Dark Patchouli with dark Rose petals together with spices has been done in absolutely perfect way. The blend is intense, so mesmerizing and polished, it’s like a thick velvet which is changing the color from dark burgundy to the darkest green. Rose Patchouli combination is very popular nowadays and I just can imagine how spectacular POAL has been when released but still until this day nothing can beat it in this category. Amouage’s Epic was released just one year before and they have many similarities. Still, especially the base of Epic is more complex with Oud which makes them to stand out between each others whilst Tiziana Terenzi’s Porpora, released in 2017, is very close to POAL. Portrait of a Lady is a classic and it’s classy. It’s sublime and it’s wafting around you and everywhere you go in attractive way. It’s not joyful but not melancholy either which makes it perfect for formal occasions with dignity and solemnity. It’s respectful scent which makes you feel confident. You can find many different kind of note pyramids from different sources. This is what make sense to me and (Note pyramid from FM website) ⬆️ Rose essence, Raspberry, Black currant, Cloves (Rose) ➡️ Turkish Rose absolute, Cinnamon, Patchouli (Black Currant, Raspberry, Cloves) ⬇️ Sandalwood, Incense, Ambroxan, White Musk (Patchouli, Sandalwood, Incense) Somewhere Benzoin and Amber has mentioned but honestly I don’t find hints of them which can be as well the result of masterfully blended concoction.
