My least favorite is Aesop Hwyl. Wow what lovely meditative woods... but the drydown turns soapy clean in an almost generic sort of way. It's so weird! Maybe it's my skin tho. But for the first 2 hours, it's magical.
Favorite...I really love the Reflection Man dry down, bc here the fougere lavender, and sweeter jasmine subdue and you're left with this buttery vetiver smooth sandalwood that's to die for. This fragrance moves on me!
I have it a bit with Oud Mineral by Tom Ford, It starts of harsh and not really my thing but the dry down is a lovely fresh seaweed/oud/wine combo that i really like.
a bit different but Nightfall in the city of kings by Mystikum starts in my opinion very female and flowers mixed with wine but dries down very mysterious and more male leaning and really comes together after that intial floral mix.
Frags with real oud tend to be a bit rough in the beginning. Not all off course, but some have this fecal, cheesey, barnyardy, or fermented thing going on.
Silver Oud by Amouage comes to mind. First hour is challenging (to my nose). Drydown is beautiful.
