Mathew at Lost Tribe took the original Vanilla Waves and did the thing every vanilla-adjacent scent should aspire to but rarely pulls off: they made it dirty.
The deer musk grains aren't a garnish here — they're doing real work, dragging that vanilla out of the gourmand dessert territory and into skin-and-sheets territory. This isn't gourmand vanilla, it's animalic vanilla, and the difference matters.
If v1 was vanilla as comfort, v2 is vanilla as intent. This is a scent that's doing something to the people around you, not just smelling nice in a vacuum.
Lost Tribe continues to be one of the few indie houses willing to lean all the way into animalic territory instead of hinting at it. Respect for that.
