Style in Play, from Lacoste Fragrances was released in 2004. The perfumer behind this creation is Annick Menardo. It has the top notes of Apple and Thuja, middle notes of Cedarwood, Jasmine, and Pine Tree, and base notes of Musk, Patchouli, and Vetiver.
For me this is very sweet sporty fragrance that I thought didn't have a great deal to give in terms of depth. I remember instantly loving it but thinking it was a little too sweet and feminine for me at the time. However, after the initial fruity blast it dries down really nicely with patchouli and Cedar coming through. I can totally understand this not being to everyone's taste the reason being...its not bland. It had been a long time since I'd tried it and had forgotten the smell really.I found it gave me something that some other sporty, young type fragrances are lacking and a bit of something that's missing from my repertoire of scents, so I decided to get it. I think it is quite original and I really do have a soft spot for Lacoste colognes based on my love affair with Eau de Lacoste Blanc this is despite most of them being generic at best or just plain awful. They occasionally triumph and get it very right.
