I believe that the newer batches are a little toned down and I actually like that about it. The magic happens in the dry down with this and it becomes a beautiful, musky, warm, vanilla. One of my all time favorite fragrances.
In Musc Ravageur there’s a strange, sullen plastic note wrapped around a dark, animalic vanilla that doesn't care what anyone thinks and laughs at its own jokes and sometimes it laughs so hard it pees itself a little, and yeah, you can actually smell that aspect of Musc Ravageur too, in the form of an almost fermented amber note. It’s both rich and sour in an offbeat way that borders on off-putting...but for all that, it’s not a terribly complicated scent. I think we might consider this a perfume that is hard to get to know, but easy to love. Do I relate to this scent a little too deeply? You could say that, sure.
Beautiful complex scent that develops and circles back over many hours.
Starts off with a rich and sweet creamy vanilla amber, with a good dose of warm furry musk.
Initially it reminded me of Grand Soir's dirtier cousin.
The beautiful vanilla and a stunning amber are dancing round florals and spice.
After many hours it turns into a beautiful amber musk.

My wife recommended them to me. She really likes it and I enjoy it as well. For me it’s all year fragrance but she doesn’t allow me to wear it in Summer 😅
Take Le Lion de Chanel, add spices and a musk overdose and you have this. It's magnificent, but Le Lion pips it for me, as this is almost unwearable for most occasions, whereas Le Lion sits just on the other side of the line. Update: the musk keeps getting stronger and more cloying, and after a few hours, when it was nothing but wave after wave of cloying, sweet, synthetic musk, it was really pissing me off. So glad I only bought 10ml of this, thank god for Le Lion.
