There is only three scents in Gulf Collection which is not discontinued and this is one of those. Qatar smells rich, expensive and gasoline like blend with the key ingredients: Peach, Pear, Candyfloss, Casmir Wood, Aoud, Saffron, Labdanum, Musk. I get leathery vibes as well from Labdanum. This is like driving a luxury car with a finest leather seats and a huge tank of gasoline and the next day you have to fill the tank again. 🔥💸 I really don't know from where I get that gasoline vibe and I get the same from Sultanate of Oman but it's a pleasant one, somewhat abstract feeling. From the key notes you can get wrong kind of vibe of this juice because this is not so sweet imo and this is rather a dark and mysterious - and very complex. Oud as a note is very unique as well bringing a depth to the fruits. All those ingredients anyway has an important role here and without flowers in the heart notes this would be boring I think. I have to mention Cotton Candy since I like the idea a lot, it brings a distinct and intoxicating character to the juice and with that note is nice to add the sweet accord in the next level if wanted. In the dry down this amazing V12 sport wild beast turns a little bit more tame version but the smell itself doesn’t change so much. And it lasts and lasts. Like all Rojas this is so well blended that it’s really hard to separate all the notes. I love this scent a lot and it’s definitely a backup bottle worthy for me like The Perfume (previous post) as well. And if I spray once Love Don’t Be Shy sugar overload on top I’m in the heaven! Top: Citrus Notes Middle: Rose de Mai, Jasmin de Grasse, Violet, Pear*, Peach* Base: Clove, Saffron*, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Casmir Wood*, Sandalwood, Aoud*, Candyfloss Accord*, Benzoin, Vanilla, Orris Sur Cèdre, Orris, Styrax, Birch, Labdanum*, Ambergris, Musk* *key ingredients This perfume you have to experience yourself but sample it first. It is a beautiful scent, absolutely unisex but sweet. It creates amazing bubble around you. Honestly I would need another bottle since I'm afraid to wear this as much as I wanted to. Definitely Unisex and so sexy on men This iconic perfume is really well known and therefore widely reviewed so I try to concentrate those kind of things which I didn’t found so easily answers before I blind bought this. My questions were: Is this too spicy and is vanilla anyway the strongest note? This is not too spicy but this is strong. This is rather a fresh and really unisex and unique take on vanilla and that I like because it’s not sugar like or any kind of ice cream vanilla which kind of I only want to wear while sleeping. In the opening green notes, pepper and ginger gives a magical touch for vanilla, which is dominant note from the beginning until the last tinge of this unique long lasting high quality perfume. Cardamom continues the spicy touch in the drydown and all those spicy notes you can smell well blended until the end -those just fade away a little bit. Other base notes start to shine and together with vanilla and fresh vibe from Patchouli they give a soft, pleasant, cozy and sophisticated experience of this juice. This scent lasts and lasts and it really won’t leave you alone. This is not shy vanilla, this makes you stand out but it’s not what I was thinking based on reviews: too spicy or too sharp. Without those spices this would be just another ordinary vanilla perfume. If you like spicy notes even a little bit, you will love this blend. 💎 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
STÉPHANE HUMBERT LUCAS 777 Soleil De Jeddah Mango Kiss This is the most realistic fruity scent I've ever tested. This perfume opens up like a juicy natural Mango, just like biting into a ripe fruit and the juice is bursting out between your teeth. There is nothing synthetic or cloying vibe in this in any moment from the opening until the fruity creamy end. As this is not synthetic and the smell of mango is overpowering compared to others this is not so long lasting on it’s own. After 3-4 hours I had to spray more if I wanted to wear same scent but since I wear this kind of scent on the beach or maybe at the gym, the short longevity is not a problem for me. After those hours I maybe would change the scent anyway - but not because this is not good. This is as delicious as you can imagine! From those notes I really get Mango, Mango and Mango, and after the opening a beautiful delicious coconut, like a coconut sorbet and creamy Vanilla on the base. Other notes are really well blended there that it’s difficult to notice those. So if you don’t like some of those notes, don’t let those fool you. Coconut and Vanilla are really neutral as well. Mango Kiss name is well deserved, this is really mouthwatering! Maybe some of you is interesting what different is in this compared to God of Fire : this is MUCH more delicious and fruity juicy feeling lasts a way longer. It actually last until it fades away. It doesn’t change like GoF changes first from light fruity to woody notes and after that there is left just soft Amber Musk blend. On the other hand God of Fire is more complex and it's creamier. It's more versatile as well since Mango Kiss is so clearly the beach scent or for hot days. The best weather for this is summertime, no doubt. Personally I only wear this kind of scent on the beach. I spray it into my clothes and hair and get whiff here and there when the scent is dancing with the wind. This scent has been made to overspray. ROJA PARFUMS AOUD AND AMBER AOUD BOTH UNISEX I wanted to make a post of these Roja Dove’s two perfumes since there seems to be people who would like to know the difference of these two and if another one is redundant if you already have the other. You can check the differences from the notes of course but that doesn’t tell always how those similarities or/and differences appears. So here is my opinion. As I love Roja so much I have both: Aoud in 30ml and 100ml and Amber Aoud Crystal in 100ml. I like to have both and for me I feel that I need to have both. The difference is not so big for most of the people but it’s noticeable. Differences are: - Amber Aoud is slightly more sweet because of Fig in the opening and Benzoin in the base. - In the same time it’s warmer because of Ambergris and Benzoin in the base. (Ambergris is as well in Aoud but it’s not the main note.) - Aoud is more fresh and rosy. It’s more traditional Rose Oud scent. - Even if there is Saffron in both, Aoud is more earthy since there is less the main notes in overall so Saffron is easier to detect. - I would say that Aoud is not so complex than Amber Aoud. In Aoud it’s really easy to smell Rose, Saffron and Oud separately while in Amber Aoud its 5 different main base notes are really well blended. - Aoud is the first one of those three (Aoud, Musk Aoud, Amber Aoud) which Roja launched so it is like the most simple one. If you want a real Rose Oud scent go for Aoud, if you are not a huge fan of traditional Rose Ouds, you can love Amber Aoud. MY OPINION: If you like AOUD, you will like Amber Aoud as well but not automatically in the other way. These both perfumes are suitable in the same kind of occasions, they share the same kind of feeling and character despite of the differences. They are attractive, seductice, rich, complex, mesmerising, utterly luxurious and absolutely in among of the best scents ever. The juice of the original perfumes is very dark and it stains clothes permanently so Crystal versions of those scents are very practical. I love to wear these scents during a summertime and with white clothes so clear juice is great with them. The scent itself is identical with the dark, original juice, only the colour has been removed. Both perfumes are unisex. I hope this will help some people to choose between these two chic, captivating and mesmerizing perfumes. Musk Aoud is by the way totally different and unfortunately it’s discontinued due to the regulations of certain natural ingredients. I’m happy to own it as 30ml og and 100ml crystal (review is my 4th post). Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
ROJA PARFUMS Aoud (2010) Parfum Unisex Sensual Inviting Sophisticated Mellow Very versatile Rather fresh than sweet High end quality 🌹One of the best rose ouds in my opinion! This was one of my first niche perfumes when starting my journey and the first rose oud in my collection. I still remember the feeling when smelling this one for first time. It’s still astonishingly A M A Z I N G 💎💎💎 Like all Roja Doves this scent has a lot of different notes and it’s impossible to separate those all. Three of them are anyway dominant in Aoud: Rose de Mai, Saffron and Oud. Oud is not skanky or animalic in this at all. It’s very restrained. After this settles down it’s getting more soft because of vanilla, nutmeg, cedarwood and sandalwood in the base but it’s strong anyway. Vanilla is like in most of Rojas: it’s impossible to detect. It gets mystical vibe and certain character from musk, leather and ambergris but all of them are blended perfectly and not at all bringing that sexual and erotic slightly animalistic vibe like in Musk Aoud. Longevity is eternal. From their website Top Notes: Lemon, Bergamot, Verbena Heart Notes: Geranium, Rose de Mai*, Jasmin de Grasse, Ylang Ylang Base Notes: Rhubarb, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Saffron*, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Casmir Wood, Sandalwood, Aoud*, Vanilla, Leather, Ambergris, Musk * KEY INGREDIENTS That travel size is Aoud Absolue Precieux (discontinued). It’s a little bit more refined than original Aoud and the oil concentration is higher. Just a note: juice is really dark and it stains light clothes. Available in Crystal which is the same perfume without a color. I’M TELLING THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AOUD AND AMBER AOUD IN THE REVIEW OF AMBER AOUD Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I think I will always have a few favorite designer scents which I love and which I just never seem to be tired of. Those scents share one common thing: at some point in my life they used to be my signature scents for years. Nowadays I don’t have that kind of scent. Maybe some day there will be one, but now I want to change quite a lot of scents within a week and even during a day. I have always been changing but still there used to be one which I wore more than others. This fragrance is not so appreciated by many people in niche world because of its simple notes but I love this powerful, narcotic jasmine bomb. I find this sexy and seductive, even mysterious despite its simplicity (Jasmine and Cashmeran in Amber base). This is strong Jasmin from the opening until the end and longevity is eternal. I think this can be too much even for some Jasmine lovers. I love it a lot. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Base notes are Vanilla, Olibanum and Tonka Bean This is pure parfum oil and first my idea with this one was to make some perfumes longevity better and wear it as a base to boost Vanilla note. Nowadays I love it a lot on it’s own and mostly wear it like that. Vanilla Barka is not overly sweet, it’s really nice, pleasant natural smelling “clean” Vanilla with Tonka. It’s a quite simple scent as alone but it’s good since it’s really easy to wear and even if it’s close to the skin you can smell it lingering gently in the air. During first wears of Vanilla Barka I detected Linalool like smell which was bothering me but after wearing it few times it wasn’t noticeable anymore. Oils are a good choice for the people whose skin is sensitive and can’t use alcohol based perfumes. On the other hand it’s good choice in the occasions when you don’t need to leave a huge scent trail behind you. And layered with other perfumes it gives better longevity. There is Vanilla in so many perfumes so this is really versatile. Vanilla Barka together with Saffron Hamra attar oil is amazing. If you love Saffron as well that combo is outstanding. Some people think that the original retail price is not justified since there is not that kind of expensive natural ingredients in this but this matter is very subjective. I enjoy this a lot! “Cavort is an intensely intimate fragrance that evokes the frisson of excitement of a first encounter.” This is one of the few fragrances that was love at first sight. I had a long list of scents i wanted to try maybe one year ago but the customer service picked this one straight off the shelf and said it was made for me. And it really was! 😍 I didn’t needed to try this for weeks to know if I love it or not. Ok, I went to take one Prosecco and after that I had made my decision. 🥂😅 Cavort is an mazing captivating blend of accords including warm spices, woody, amber and white florals. This is in the same time classy, unique, mysterious and sexy but still very easy to wear in all kind of occasions and outfits. This is perfect for autumn, winter and spring time but I can see myself wearing this during the chill summer evenings as well. Saffron makes this soft, intimate and earthy. Cinnamon gives warm, spicy note in the same time when Geranium lingers around in a pleasant aromatic way and Labdanum gives a deep power, a leathery note for the blend (this juice is not weak). Sandalwood and Patchouli settle down to soft and satisfying base notes and these all together stays all the day in my skin. I adore the mix of Ylang Ylang, Jasmin and Orange Flower together with Rose in the middle notes (and the whole blend oc). I find this really addictive and intoxicating yet sophisticated blend which projects strongly though. This beauty you have to experience yourself to understand totally what I mean. This is so perfectly blended and everything in this is in harmony: that’s why I tried to separate the notes because otherwise it would have been impossible to understand what’s going on. 💯 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
There is not so much about this scent which hasn't been written already but some words. This unique blend is controversial because of the notes and how people experience those. Some people are standing on Hashish note and some people think that this has nothing to do with the Cannabis at all. Anyway I think that some people maybe don’t know the difference of the words Cannabis, Hashish and Marihuana. From their website: “The fragrance aims to evoke the best quality of Hashish.” Hashish is a Cannabis product produced from resinous material of the Cannabis plant and that is one of the main accords and the top note and it’s definitely there. It’s sweety and juicy, dark and resinous scent is amazing with mellow, rich, and smoky oud blend. This is definitely not the Marihuana which is maybe the most known smell of the plant called Cannabis, this is like concentrated form of that. If you want more realistic Marihuana (weed) note I recommend Fragrance Du Bois Cannabis Blue. I love both and those two are really different. Part of ingredients in this juice has been produced in Holland because those are illegal in Italy. This is mysterious powerful extrait de parfum. Enjoy if you have this, this is a piece of art! *I hope no one gets offended. Just wanted to make clear the differences in these notes. Do I love this one? Yes Is it versatile? No, it's very complex and unique. Is it unisex? Absolutely Longevity? All the day Sillage? Huge Office safe? No, I don't think so. Do you get compliments? I don't know but you get noticed for sure. Juice is dark so be careful with light clothes. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I think these ones was the first niche perfumes in my collection. These creations in the nice aluminium bottles are parfums. I was visiting their perfume store in Èze, France (beautiful village btw) and I was testing all perfumes which they was producing as parfum concentrate. I had never got that kind of olfactive experience before. Diamant was definitely my favorite and that was for long time my signature perfume. Those juices are really good quality, strong, thick stuff with eternal longevity. Parfums comes in three sizes (60, 30 and 15ml) and you can go a long way with these bottles! This house is so underrated but it used to be as well a little bit difficult to find and it’s not so known perfume house. But once you try those you will notice what I mean (quality). Diamant is a floral fruity gourmand fragrance and the main accords are caramel, patchouli, vanilla, rose, fruity (orange in the opening, plum in the middle notes) and woody but it’s so well blended that it’s almost impossible to say what is there. And there is a little bit sweetness but it’s not sweet like typical sweet perfumes. This is really overwhelming experience and I don’t remember how many people has been sniffing my neck and wanted the same. 😅 Even if it’s “floral fruity” the scent itself is really mysterious and definitely from another world than typical floral fruity blends. Belle De Nuit is floral fruity fragrance as well and an olfactive experience is matching with that definition. That is for women who really like floral notes. For me this is challenging to wear and I don’t reach that bottle so often but definitely this is same amazing Fragonard quality. Surprisingly these parfums are really affordable, I would say cheap even if the juice itself is luxurious. This really unique masterpiece is either love or hate at the first sight. I had two wonderful perfumes from Nishane already and I knew that the performance and the longevity are great. I was just again surprised how all those notes blend beautifully together. Nishane is a niche perfume house from 🇹🇷 Istanbul and their quality is 🔝 10/10 Because of the main accords which I like and an opinion of most of the people that this is well blended totally unique scent (plus hours 🧐 ) made me pull the trigger as a blind buy. Anyway I recommend sample first. Main accords: sweet, tobacco, coconut, woody (Chinese Cedar), rum, vanilla, mossy (Oakmoss) 🥃🥥 🌴 What you get - or better what I got: Forever lasting powerfull burnt smoky coconut rum experience and this perfume really is an experience. I love this! I was scared about tobacco note but it’s not like dirty smoked cigarette, it’s rather smoky airy feeling, pleasant one. Coconut is not cloying or sunscreen one, it’s burnt dry coconut. Tonka Beans gives it a little bit sweet hint while rum lingers in the background. This is perfect for the wintertimes but I will definitely try it in fresh summer evenings as well while dreaming of being in the Pirates Of The Caribbean-movie. 🏴☠️🥃🥥 Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
First I decided not to buy this because of the hype and I noticed that so many have this, but it’s just so delicious. I would like to have rare things but like with many perfumes I have to admit that it’s not so bad if there is few thousands of other happy owners. This juice is like a Christmas time in the bottle. It’s delicious fresh cinnamon vanilla apple pie and a cognac in the nice crystal class on the table and you walk in the room and get those notes mixed together. This is an amber vanilla fragrance, I would say boozy gourmand and I like the level of sweetness here even if overly sweet scents are not my favourite category. Vanilla is not popping out here, it's so smoothly blended. Cognac note and cinnamon keeps the sweetness from vanilla, Praline and Tonka bean in the balance while cinnamon gives warm spicy effect to this. The base is utterly soft, velvety sandalwood with a hint of vanilla with some nuttiness. I don’t get any powdery vibes here. Despite how I describe the perfume this is elegant and interesting blend and I think this is really wearable during the autumn and the winter time, day and night. This is really addictive, intoxicating scent and I just want to smell it more and more. I'm very sensitive to synthetic aromas but I don't find any here. Even if there was, they are made very well. The bottle is really beautiful as well giving a crystal glass feeling when you hold this. As this is popular there is clones and dupes a lot of this. I haven’t tested not even one and actually I’m not interested to test any - I always prefer the original and authentic of everything. There is many similar perfumes in the world for sure (I don’t mean this one, like overall) but this one is really copied. I'm aware as well that many perfume connoisseurs don’t respect Kilian as a perfume house but I have found there anyway unique and adorable scents and blends of notes which I haven’t found anywhere else. This scent is totally unisex. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I was so curious of this scent first of all because I don’t like the idea of chocolate and orange. I don’t like at all those marmalade chocolates but I was thinking if I don’t test this I will miss something. Secondly I read that this is not so obvious gourmand so I wanted to find some more sophisticated (vanilla/chocolate) gourmand in my collection. I have not so obvious gourmands but now I mean for example Lira, which is nice but I don’t want to smell like that myself. And yes! Like I was thinking about this I felt in love with this. 💛 So addictive beautiful blended scent and yes, this is really obvious white chocolate and orange and I just like it a lot even if I don’t like the smell of those candies or cookies. This is like Kinder with orange! And this really is sophisticated gourmand because it’s not so strong and screaming those gourmand notes after settling down. Everything is in the balance even if I have to admit that this is linear fragrance without any surprises. In the basenotes there is vanilla, Laotian oud, Thailand oud and musk but for all you who don’t like oud: don’t skip this because of that. It’s not animalic or smoky here, it’s just warm and sweet and many of us can’t separate that in this juice. I have read many comments that there wouldn’t be oud at all but it just gives a little bit character to this scent. This is definitely the perfume for colder days. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
FRAGRANCE DU BOIS Cannabis Intense Shadi Samra 2020 Unisex, nowadays I’m thinking male leaning though One of my favourite from Fragrance du Bois. Beautifully aromatic, classy and versatile year around perfume. Absolutely sophisticated - don’t get scared because of the name. Cannabis Intense as a name may bring some associations into your mind but this one is different. The scent is so perfectly blended that all the notes have completely merged with each other from the beginning. Really quickly after opening the sharp spicy notes are gone and I notice soft nutmeg and pleasant earthy Saffron but in this point there should be cannabis note as well. This is the moment when this scent turns out very interesting, it’s there but in a unique way. Cannabis is not like for example in Nasomatto Black Afgano which is more hashish like or like in FDB Cannabis Blue which is extremely realistic dry Marihuana (weed) scent. You can find here two types of Cannabis accords and the fresh green one is balanced with Oud and Saffron. Another one is inspired by the smell of the burnt Cannabis leaves. Neither of those notes are dominant since the idea was to create a synergy between woody, spicy and green notes. This seams to be quite linear, it doesn’t change so much during its lifetime and it’s very comfortable, soft, woody musk base balances the blend until the end. Yet, thinking about the idea of the scent, the complexity is there. Oud is not any main note here and imo Oud here is more beautifully made than in FDB’s Oud line. I mean it doesn’t come straight away into your nose and disappear quickly. Here it is smoothly in the background. Gorgeous scent! Thank you for reading and I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
This is basically a summer version of their gold absolute flanker. It's a beast for a summer frag and last and lasts and project extremely well.
Basically beast mode VIW.
Don't buy Armani Code Parfum, get this for a fraction of the price, it's better! It's not exquisite perfume, but for the genre it's well executed and inoffensive.
As with many of this range this is lovely. Smells like quality (with more than a little in common with Gentlemen Only by Givenchy, it may even be a bit better). For 3 euros, you can't go wrong.
A very confused and unpleasant fragrance
Light Blue eau Intense - simple yet effective. It opens with a rush of salty sea water and juicy grapefruit, accompanied by a touch of green juniper and mandarin; all enveloped around a musky base. It’s a fairly simple scent in terms of notes, and it’s not the highest quality but it does what it’s meant to do very well. It really does transport you to a sunny beach with a warm, salty breeze. The performance is also really good which is appreciated in a summer scent, I think it’s the subtle hint of amberwood which is carrying the lighter notes throughout the day. This is not a particularly special fragrance, but ask anyone for a summer recommendation and this will usually pop up for a reason. It’s a lovely scent and works really well in the warmer months - a must have really.
Neroli Intense is a beautiful interpretation of a summery neroli. It opens quite sharp with orange blossom and lemon, before the soft and airy neroli and jasmine become centre stage. As it softens on the skin, an aromatic base compliments the white florals with a touch of rosemary and woody notes. For the price, the quality here is incredible. You wouldn’t think you could get a fragrance for this price that isn’t screechy or synthetic, or as well blended as this one. Not only that but the performance is great too which is rare for a citrus and white floral perfume. I think this scent is wonderful and the perfect refreshment for a hot summers day. Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino is obsolete while this fragrance exists, and for a fraction of the price. It’s really piqued my interest to explore other releases from Jeanne en Provence.
Wonderful, classic Ellena. A blind buy for me after listening to a Fragrantica talks episode, and I don't regret it. Probably not the best performance, but it's Ellena so I've come to expect that, plus sometimes subtle and ephemeral is what I'm going for. (Update: performance is actually pretty impressive for this type of scent, it sits close, but is enduring) It doesn't smell like Eau d'Hiver, but what they have in common is the sort of distant, caught-on-the-breeze délicatesse, and they both give me the impression that this is how these notes work, i.e. you don't want them presenting as loud, beasty and screechy. Ellena's perfumes are the antithesis of Tom Ford for me, I'm glad they both exist but this is the high art to Tom Ford's cartoonish output. Blooms in heat, when the tomato leaf is a bit less dominant.
No doubt this is an incredible endeavour, a feat of perfumery. It's a warm Autumn Sunday, I've been for a run and am lounging in the sunlight watching TV wearing EdC. I keep sniffing myself, it's compelling, but I also feel like I've scattered salad all over my prostrate body. Lettuce, tomato, cucumber and maybe some herby olive oil. I don't think I'd ever wear this
Underrated masterpiece. So so much better than the rest of the Gentleman range. It's unique and performs well, getting a lot of compliments. I like that It doesn't have any of the typical shouty masculine notes, and that the notes it does have are delicately blended.
