It is often compared to Prada Candy by Prada but to me it also smells similar to Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent even though they do not have many notes in common. It’s a sweet and subtly gourmand perfume of mediocre longevity and sillage but hints of the Caramel linger it is quite possibly the best of the Korres brand.
Sequence: another masterpiece of perfume-making by Julien Rasquinet, a master in oppulence in the most stylish way possible. Although the Fruit-Rose-Oud combo is done many times before, JR does it beautifully and perfectly, the freshness of the Lychee and slight tartness of the Raspberry contrasts beautifully with the rich Sweetness of the Rose and the oppulence of the Oud. i’m a bit dissapointed that they didn’t sneak in a bit of that Amouage frankincense? Yes, a bit. But that doesn’t make it less of a fragrance for me, it’s just my curiosity of what would have happend. The sillage is strong but not mindblowing atomic missile strong like Oud Maracujá by Maison Crivelli . Maybe if OM is the fruit-oud for the young and brash people, Sequence is his older and more understated brother? It has a bit more of a grace to it, that JR does best.
In contradiction to the quotian I’ve given thus fragrances, I still love it. It‘s longevity is very poor, maybe 2-3 hours tops (I tried this now in the height of summer), it’s sillage and projection is just non-existend. But man what a smell! On paper this fragrance lasts nearly a week, it’s anise/absinth/liquorice accord is just so beautiful and vibrant. The Woody drydown reminds me a bit of vanilla mixed with incense and dry woods. why can’t it last longer? if I layer it with Tabac Headspace by Headspace it improves a bit, also with Torino22 by Xerjoff , but still. i hope when the temperature drops its performance will enhance. but still I don’t regret buying it, because of my love for anise.
A beautiful coconut-fruity-incense, if this makes sense? The coconut stays with you all through the wear, it’s creamy, milky and full bodied. The fruit gives it a very tropical vibe, but not in a cheap tropical showergel way, bit a sophisticated fruity sense. the green, smoky but also freshy frankinsence gives it a special vibe and reminds me of a Greek Church on a Crete. It just done in such a beautiful way, allthough the sillage doesn’t scream, it stays with you all day and sometimes you get a slight “hallo, here I am” vibe from the scent and you get surprised by it. in one day I got two people saying that i smell nice on a slight humid warm day (30C). It may sound weird, but it reminds me a bit of Ambre Russe by Parfum d'Empire , but completly different and summery. 👌 It ‘s a beautiful scent by Amouage!
