First of all this bottle is ART. This scent is an evocative experience. It’s almost not even a cologne. This is not for those who minimize and cheapen fragrances as “tools for seduction”. Right out the gate it reminded me of a big bag of fresh mulch or wood chips from the garden center of Home Depot after it’s been rained on. That, and a spray of ISO e super. This is such a pleasing scent for those who love the outdoors, fall, rain, fog, or cold weather. If you’ve ever stopped to enjoy the smell of soil or wood, this is a safe blind buy. It’s really polite and pleasant. My wife loves it on me, and I trust her opinion. I’m so glad to have this in my modest collection. It doesn’t make me feel like Dracula. It makes me feel like Hugh Glass from the Revenant. 10/10
Smells like a lot of other sweet semi cloying scents at Target. Strong though, and long lasting. A little too sweet and one dimensional for my taste. Kind of a tween scent.
Good for a modern young man. Interesting enough, safe enough, masculine enough. Hard to dislike.
White pepper, powder, clean synthetic smelling boring safe distant woods. Like a young Mike Pence in a bottle. Safe and uninspiring.
Definitely braver and more original than most men’s colognes being made today. Got some lipstick, leather, anis, and shaving cream notes to my nose. Not too shabby, but not one I’d buy for myself.
Wanted to like this. Just not me. Too old school. Notes just don’t grab me.
Soft spices, but I get no cedar on my skin. It’s definitely more distinct than anything at the Macys counter though. I’m figuring out though that I’m not into sandalwood notes. Gave it to a friend though, and he loves it. It’s his signature scent and the way it makes him feel makes me really glad I bought it.
Simple boring soulless powdery fake woods. Way overpriced and overhyped only by anyone making commission.
The negative reviews are actually the ones that drew me the most to wanting to blind buy this. “Smells like you cooked a big Italian meal and then went walking in the woods”, “it’s great if you want to smell like a 50 year old priest”, dude that sounds different and fascinating. I don’t know of anything else that smells remotely like this. It’s got notes that include bay leaf, and it’s super inexpensive. My wife loves it on me. It feels very old fashioned and distinct in an international way. This is a working man’s scent. A firm handshake, direct eye contact, a soft sonorous voice, calloused hands, a word of encouragement, dependably calm and collected. If Aqua Brava was a man, he would be all of these. I would sacrifice half or more of my fragrance wardrobe for an edt version of this. I’ve smelled hand sanitizer with better longevity. PUIG!!! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!! Note: I have almost 20 different scents I have to choose from and THIS is the ONLY one my wife rates a 10/10.
If you are a dude who clicks on YouTube fragrance videos with the phrase “panty-droppers”, this scent is not for you my guy. This is the fragrance equivalent of the guy at work that elevates your day with his complete lack of cynicism. This is the most polite, uplifting, and smile inducing scent a man can wear. I tried it at the mall and was literally skipping back to my car with a huge smile on my face. So maybe you’ve gotta use more sprays than other fragrances, but the scent is incredible. I layer it with Versace Man Eau Fraiche to increase its longevity. A bright mandarin opening with a clean linen dry down with some soft woodsy notes at its base. Update: a little over a year later after some maceration… 6 sprays on the collar has lasted for most of the day. I got so excited I told my wife that it macerated and it seemed to extend the longevity. She said “It’s a sin to macerate.”
