Blind bought a 200ml bottle from eBay. Ended up spending under 20 bucks. This is because I’ve never smelled anything by Rosendo Mateu I didn’t love. As of now I have 5 of his creations (Agua Brava is my favorite). Diavolo is nothing dark, nothing spicy, nothing sultry, nothing mysterious. If you’ve ever smelled the original Prada Luna Rossa, you’ll get the vibe. This is a clean, soapy, reassuring, classy, soft fragrance with some greens and a little leather. I love it. I probably used 3 mls though in one work shift. I didn’t notice any significant projection or significant longevity worth mentioning. Worth a blind buy I’d say. Glad to have it in my collection. It was instantly liked by my whole family.

Rumored to be Werner Herzog’s signature scent, I wore this to the funeral of my ex-stepgrandma and everyone was clambering to bury their faces in my collar. I soaked up their tears and their compliments like a sponge. What an absolutely stunning and transcendent fragrance.

Smelled this on a guy at work and had to ask him what it was. It’s beautiful, velvety, and clean in the air. Absolutely blind buy worthy. It’s so nice in the air. No sweetness to my nose really, and probably suited to an adult. One of my favorite Christmas gifts this year. Up close right away the lemon note is okay, but I’m much more into the drydown. You’ll likely go nose blind if you overspray. I’d suggest no more than two sprays on the rear neck area. UPDATE: Honestly it’s a little too modern for my collection, and doesn’t really pass the test when it comes to how distinct I like my selection of scents to be. I can see most guys at the mall wearing this no problem. I might sell it to a friend. UPDATE 2: sold it to a friend at work. He loved it and now I get to smell it at work! UPDATE 3: He loves it and oversprays it like crazy. I have created a monster. He hugs girls at work and I smell it on all of them…from like 6 feet away, even the next day. He’s like a dog that’s excited to spread his scent everywhere. I catch phantom whiffs of it across the store when he’s not even there. I think he may be spraying it like air freshener.

Joe Smells Good on YouTube introduced me to this. The sage in this does come across sharp and medicinal. The vetiver is dry and hay-like, not the earthy wet Encre Noire kind. A piece of art, not so much something one wears for compliments. Niche for sure. Not for the faint of heart. Lasts for about a week on clothing.

Joe Smells Good on YouTube sent me a sample of this. Really sophisticated and complex. A lot going on. Of the warm spicy men’s frags I’ve smelled this one stands above probably 95% of them. Spicy, resinous, and slightly soapy. A kind of smoothness that’s lacking in many scents of this variety. No sweetness to speak of, which is a plus for me. Not one I’d expect to smell on a young guy at the mall, more like something a Bruce Wayne type would wear if he spent more time in his library than in his batcave.

I put a minuscule amount on my wrist and I keep coming back to it. It’s like a creamy cilantro stem and maybe some rose. I find it to be quite comforting and unique. I don’t know what all the fuss is about.
