Best Whiskey Fragrances?

I'm a huge fan of boozy fragrances, mostly containing rum.

But I find some to be a bit too much at certain occasions.

Whiskey on the other hand is a lighter note.

Xerjoff Don is great, and at the other end of the scale, PR Invictus Legend is another banger with the whiskey note used in a fresher fragrance.

What are a few suggestions for me to try..?

Mark..

Just came across this - D'Annam has a lovely whisky frag called Japanese Whiskey with Whiskey, Mizunara Oak, Malted Barley, Clary Sage, Sandalwood and Chestnut notes. I got it in the Japan discovery set and I thought it was really interesting! (but expensive ayayayay ...)

Japanese whiskey has very little flavor so the thought to make a perfume from it seems off

Velours Boise by Jaques Fath has an amazing whisky accord plus it’s a beautiful perfume. And there’s also a cool one by Kingdom Scotland that has an Islay malt accord.

Some of my favourites are;

The Dandy by Penhaligons, Jazz Club by Maison Margiela, and if you want something that is very appealing Gentleman Reserve Privee by Givenchy.

You should definitely try the Nasomatto Baraonda. Simply speechless, the best whiskey note I've smelled today.****

Extra: I really like the fragrance 2.12 Amyi, a niche perfumery from Brazil. There are many good launches and well-constructed perfumes, if you have the opportunity it's worth checking out.

I recently sampled Manhattan from DSH Perfumes and it is stunning. I don't think it's in the database here yet, so I will share my review in this thread, if you are curious...

DSH Perfumes Manhattan is firelight through a vintage lens – all warmth and no flame, the way old films captured hearths in silver-screen shadows. The glow feels richer than memory, grounded in something earthy and lush, a cherry left at the bottom of a glass, soaked in honeyed spirits, plummy with promise. A bitter note cuts through the sweetness, a tiny nibble under the gazes of those who love you, a warmth so enveloping and tender it breaks your heart just a little and brings tears to your eyes. You recognize it instantly: that feeling of safety and love that you can only experience now through the lens of nostalgia because you’ll never be that young or small or loved that way again.

The scent wraps around you like a childhood memory that softens into sadness when held too long. It’s the kind of velvet golden haze that catches in your throat now, because you know such perfect shelter can’t exist outside of memory, outside these few precious frames of black and white film where the firelight always burns just right, and everyone you’ve ever loved is still young and beautiful and waiting in the next room. This is a softly devastating scent, and one that requires emotional steadiness to wear – it has a way of dissolving the present and opening rooms in the memory where beloved ghosts forever wait patiently for you with open arms, where the little heart you long outgrew is forever full.

oh! excellent! I don't think it was when I originally wrote the review before Christmas, and I haven't checked back since. I will add it now!

That's more like a short story not a review
