Toughts on Maison Margiela - REPLICA

Good morning everyone,

I would like to know your opinion about the perfumes from the Replica line. I just bought my bottle of By the Fireplace and I absolutely love it. I have a sample of Jazz Club and it will probably become a bottle in the future.

What do you think about the fragrances and the idea of the aroma representing a sensation or place/environment? I believe that this is what perfumery is all about, providing olfactory memories with the most different aromas.

Which others do you recommend I try or which ones do you like the most?

i think their fragrances are pleasant enough but for me they lack a certain depth. I think they are simplistic. Not bad by any means. I’ve not found one I’d like to wear.

I recently bought Springtime in a Park, but have yet to test the scent out thoroughly. I bought it because of the pear note, it’s lovely! Not sure if it completely evokes a certain kind of memory though.

another one I thought so likely is Sailing Day and When the Rain Stops ❤️

I've tried Jazz Club and Whispers in the library. They both had a warmth but felt slightly synthetic to my nose. There is nothing wrong with synthetics in fragrance at all, but I just couldn't buy into what I was smelling. Need to try some others fa sho!

I’ve recently tried a couple of Maison Margiella Replica fragrances, and I have really enjoyed them.

My favorite so far is Sailing Day. It’s fresh, crisp, and aquatic, with a clean, breezy feel. It really reminds me of being out on the water. If you like light and refreshing scents, this one is a great choice.

I also tried Beach Walk, which smells a lot like sunscreen with some floral notes. It definitely gives off beachy vibes, but I feel like I could get a similar scent just from wearing sunscreen. It’s still very nice, just not my personal favorite.

For me By The Fireplace is a bit too smoky, but I understand the appeal - it’s a very realistic scent. Heard many good things about Afternoon Delight, might need to try it one day. I really enjoy this way of exploring fragrances, having a specific moment or location mentioned as inspiration for the smell. I very much associate fragrances with places, love to buy perfume on trips 😅
