Today I'm speaking about Animalic Fragrances. So what Are Animalic Fragrances? Animalic Fragrances are fragrances that feature notes that are derived from animals. What is Civet? What is Castoreum? What is Musk Deer? What is Ambergris? What is Hyrax? All discussed today in my long video with several Animalic fragrances as well. Do you enjoy Animalic Fragrances? Animalic Notes:
-Civet: anal glands of exotic civet - smells very very intensely pungent and fecal. Best combined with florals - synthetic version Civetone - also Coffee
-Castoreum: the castor sacs of the Beaver - extremely pungent and very strong smell. It’s an intense leathery smell almost urine.
-Musk Deer: now synthetic but once a secretion inside the internal pouch of the abdomen of the male deer. You have to kill the deer to obtain the secretion.
-Ambergris -it’s the waste of sperm whales found washed up on shores. Very expensive. Now Ambroxan.
-Hyrax - Hyraceum/Africa Stone the fecal matter dried even fossilized which could smell very animalic, but warm, fecal urine
These notes can also refer to Animalic notes even though they do not come from animals
