What Is Fragrance DNA? All About The DNA Of Perfumes Today

I'm discussing DNA of Fragrances today as a question that was asked of me. Do you know of Fragrance DNA? Do you recognize the DNA of a brand or a Perfumer or? Please let me know, add a comment below so that I can find out.

Email I received:
Hi Sebastian,
I was wondering if you could do a video on "Fragrance DNA".  I mean I do think I have a good understanding of what it means but would like to hear your thoughts on the subject. Just some random thoughts about what I think about the concept. When I smell a PDM, Creed, or Guerlain, I'm like yeah; I can just tell it comes from this house.  Is that their DNA?  Is it that they source all their ingredients from one supplier?  Like the vanilla is PDM is unmistakably PDM vanilla and the ambergris in Creed is unmistakably Creed. And just within the house of Guerlain, I know they use Guerlinade.  What is that?  What notes is it comprised of?  And staying within the house, smelling anything from the L'homme Ideal line is immediately recognizable to that line.  And S/O to Thierry Wasser for creating that DNA and being able to tweak it enough to produce flankers retain that DNA but are different enough not to be redundant purchases.

Another aspect of DNA I am curious about is "blue" fragrance DNA.  What exactly does that mean?  I have heard people refer to Elysium as a blue fragrance, but to me, it doesn't fit that DNA at all.

I know this is a long-winded email but I wanted to be as clear as possible about what I am asking. Hope this makes the channel. Let me know if you have any questions. Appreciate it, Robert.
