My Signature

I don't get the negativity. For those who laud Fate Woman, this is a close cousin, maybe even a sibling. Creamy cinammon and rose, it's really delectable, slightly easier to wear than Fate Woman. It's less incensey and doesn't have the chili, so it's not quite as wacky and bold, but then we have to accept that those days are "Chong" behind us (badaboom). Lots of people bemoan a woody amber base in Crimson Rocks, and I'm usually hyper sensitive to that, but I'm not getting it from this at all. Love it. Update: oh the oaky drydown, didn't see it coming. I was expecting the harsh woody base to come through and bother me, but what I have instead is a lovely strong, noble oak, totally unique and photorealistic. The honey also creeps up after the first hour or so and it very realistic too. Update: I can't get enough of this, it's my new favourite rose. P0AL left me cold, but this gives me what others seem to get from that one. It lingers on clothes but not in a obnoxious way. It's such a delicious rich jammy rose and spicy cinnamon treat, and as the days draw in and the chill begins I'm finding this is a new signature for me. It's s a shame the new style packaging is so bland, so anodyne, but I can forgive that. This fragrance is currently flying under the radar but trust and believe, if (when) it gets discontinued people will be desperate to get hold of it.
I don't find this faecal or stinky, it's more like a cosy exotic barnyard, warm, damp hay, animals, some honey and a teensy touch of something floral in the dry down, and most of all RESINS! For me this is an incense perfume. I find it easy to wear but then my bar is already low as I have loads of really stinky perfumes, pure oud oils, etc. I don't find anything that difficult to wear except badly made shite. This is becoming a firm favourite. It feels like a distant cousin of Absolue Pour le Soir to me. Update: wearing it on a chilly December day, it's incredible. I do smell like a farmyard, and it is a soup of synthetic animalics, but it's dosed and balanced perfectly so as not to be obnoxious, cloying or too loud. The best perfume from this house IMO.
I'm a huge fan of Aunty Pat and her sublime legacy, but this is hideous. It's not quite as obnoxiously horrific as Kirke, but it's not far off. Lovers of gas warfare such as Montale and Mancera, as well as the aforementioned ghaslty T Terrenzi perfume will probably love this. I shudder to imagine sharing an office, or a post code, with anyone who "rocks* this type of perfume.
Smells like the aftermath of a toddler's birthday party. Sickly sweet and generic.
Five minutes of steamy, aldehydic petrichor, then bland almondy (heliotrope?) base which is almost imperceptible and goes nowhere.
At first it smells good, but you're left with a monstrous stinky fug of chemical base notes that lasts for a week and cannot be washed off. The epitome of the perfume style that will wear you down and bum you and everyone around you out.
Samesy same same Céline vanilla base with benzoin up top. Let's face it, most of their perfumes are this exact same thing, with one particular thing changed up top. Lavender (Rimbaud), galbanum (Nightclubbing), orris (black tie), laurel/coriander (Dans Paris) etc etc, always over the fluffy, vanilla cloud. It's a very nice trick, but it's one trick.
It does smell sort of rustic and a little bit barnyardish, but not challenging. And it's incredible. And yes sometimes you get a waft resembling a pissed-up mattress, but in a good way. The best thing Kurky ever did.
It's like a cross between 8 88 and Fate Woman, but lighter than both of those. I have a vintage bottle, not sure what the new one is like.
Nothing floral or powdery listed but for me it both of these things in addition to the listed notes, especially powdery. It's very nice, but smells a bit like ancient soap, not sure if I can wear it easily. I have a vintage, square bottle.
Nauseating chemical stench. As subtle as a sledgehammer. It's like a mint boiled sweet with pool chemicals and some sort of metallic blood type effect. Absolutely horrible. I haven't smelled a scent from this house that didn't piss me off immediately, but this one is particularly bad.
