Really nice, beautiful and fresh, easy reach and doesn't bother anyone but performance is subtle yet sophisticated and even classy. Opening is quite sharp fresh Bergamot with salty touch and it turns into Rhubarb and Mojito notes which both are incredible realistic, not too sour yet not sweet at all. The blend brings immediately the beautiful breeze of summer, sipping the cocktail at the beach restaurant. I wish the middle notes would have last longer. The woody base unfolds too soon and and an ultimate fresh feeling disappears however remaining without turning creamy or heavy. This is beautiful scent, I'm just addicted in Mojito vibe in this but this is not just that which means of course that scent is not linear. TAKE ME BACK TO MARRAKECH Christian Carbonnel (Chris Maurice) 2024 TOP: Bitter orange, Blackcurrant, Green notes HEART: Pineapple, Neroli, Orange blossom, Pink pepper BASE: Patchouly, Amber, Musk This one got my attention with the one of the most amazing Neroli and Orange blossom aromas which I have ever smelt. The opening is edgy, and the natural smell of flowers is so intoxicating that immediately you are thinking to be in the middle of the blooming trees under the sun. Neroli - a citrusy and a little bit bitter green scent, called as well as bitter orange oil - merges seamlessly with the top notes and it's hard to tell them apart. Orange Blossom is fresh, not sweet like in many scents and it gets smoother considerably towards the end. I know that delicious fruits get a lot of attention, but this is not sprinkling juicy fruity scent so this is not a Pineapple scent neither a Blackcurrant scent those are balancing the bitter note. This scent has clearly three stages and even if the opening is a little bit challenging, I love them all. You have to love very natural smells to love this one but I hope everyone would give this a full wear and wait a heavenly, indulgent, charming and inviting dry down which is softly musky and unfolds through a beautiful mellow yet pampering mid phase. Like Magie Rouge and Boheme Chic this scent is very unique as well and I don't remember smelling anything near this. I will edit my review and analyse more once I will have a full bottle of this one. I only have a little sample and despite being quite potent I’m afraid to wear it as much as I wanted to. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
MARRAKECH IMPERIAL MAGIE ROUGE and BOHÈME CHIC Absolutely one of my favourite new houses with the collection of good quality perfumes from one of my favourite perfumers Christian Carbonnel (known as well Chris Maurice). I will make a review of them all. I’m obsessed with powdery soft musky perfumes atm and there are two of them in this collection. Since I only have samples of all these perfumes I want to compare a little bit these two instead of just writing an in depth review separately (which I’m going to write after having a full bottle of them). I have many different kind of powdery perfumes: clean, soapy and bright ones, vintage make up powdery ones, baby powdery or baby wipes kind of scents and of course subtle powdery roses and some sophisticated fruity powdery perfumes. Now I have found two absolutely mesmerising powdery scents which are not like any other which I already have so they don’t fit into the categories above. MAGIE ROUGE is somewhat “neutral” powder and even a dusty one (in a good way) and I have been trying to find this kind of scent for a while. There is not too much Vanilla in it which makes it different from many other perfumes in this category but just enough to wrap all the notes in a warm blanket. The texture is utterly comforting, soothing, beautiful and velvety soft. The blend is harmonious and does not emphasize any note above the others. In many powdery scents you can find Iris or Orris Root but here is Acacia which has warm Iris like and powdery qualities and even if Acacia is called as Mimosa as well here you don’t find that rich, sweet, yellow floral note which dominate easily. Violet adds the powdery feeling as well without vintage make up -like nuances which puts this in the neutral category. I would say that this is a modern make up powder smell. For me it was unforgettable since the first sniff. In BOHÈME CHIC the powdery note is not so opulent, powerful, dominant and dry. The scent has beautiful tender floral note which makes it slightly more feminine than Magie Rouge. Here Iris and Heliotrope are creating a subtle and indulgent, romantic and hazy cloud which unfolds with sweeter and creamier Vanilla than in Magie Rouge. This is anyway very neutral as well without turning soapy or baby powdery nor almond like creaminess in any kind of way. Both of them are addictive scents, it’s really hard for me to save the precious drops until I will have full bottles of them some day. Because I only have samples I can't say so much about longevity and sillage (can't spray as much as I normally do). Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
I have been thinking lately in which scent Lilac is performing in the most blooming and natural way. The answer is PIERRE DE VELAY LES CLOCHETTES DU BONHEUR BY Roja Dove - the perfect scent for springtime. It opens up with fresh glorious Lilac which immediately takes me to the nostalgic journey to my childhood when we had a garden full of Lilac bushes. Opulent Lily-of-the-Valley intertwines with Lilac bringing light green and soapy touch to the scent. There is not that much sweetness despite of Amaryllis and Ylang-Ylang nor the overly rich texture or sourness which the latter one often offers so the fragrance maintains its mild, bright and fresh character and Lily-of-the-Valley is the star of the show accompanied innocently and beautifully by Lilac. The brand nominates Jasmine as a main note and it may be that Lilac plays such a big role for me in this because of the memories. There are Jasmine like aromas In Lilac and LiLy so the combination of those flowers unfolds seamlessly creating the harmonious cloud. The base is only supporting the concoction without being creamy nor dominant but it turns somewhat intoxicating opening into very indulgent, classy and soft composition. Les Clochettes du Bonheur is utterly charming and subtle, delicate floral for all Lilac and Lily-of-the-Valley lovers who respect the natural luxurious olfactive experience. I wish I had kept all the empty bottles of Classique. It was my signature for many years since it was released. I have worn at least 15 bottles. I have had many flankers of it during the years but this Classique Intense I love the most. It’s not so similar with the og which the name makes you think. It’s made of two separate units: 40% of the fragrance is the original creation, and 60% are new, added components. However, the original is not totally same formula anymore (I was lucky to find great vintage ones) which it used to be so I don’t know about these figures. For me this is completely the different scent with some of the same notes in it. Classique Intense is very mellow and seductive, it’s classy and solar. It radiates the warmth and light around you. White florals are mostly hidden under the thick honeyed golden base of Vanilla and Patchouli. The base is surprisingly different from what you might think of the notes. This is sweet but not sugary and Vanilla is not obvious edible either. I don’t think this at all as a gourmand despite of creamy and fruity Tiare Flower and Pomegranate in the opening. The scent feels somewhat oriental take on white florals and all the notes are blended perfectly together. Like the og this may cause headache because of its intoxicating intensity. Edit: If you love Classique Intense and don't want to pay crazy ebay prices, you should try Elie Saab Le Parfum (it's edp). It's made by Francis Kurkdjian as well (2011) and it's smelling quite similar intensive white florals with solar feeling and honey like sweetness. Flowers are a bit more heady first and there is not Vanilla so JPG feels somewhat more balanced in the beginning. JPG maintains an intense slightly more complex aroma while Le Parfum turns into more subtle and delicate one. It unfolds into an incredibly well balanced scent which feels fluffy and velvety soft. They are not like identical twins but siblings with a lot of same dna. There is not so much differences in the dry down. Elie Saab Le Parfum you can still find and in a very good price and look at that bottle! It’s so cute! My bottle is from 2016 and I haven't tried the most new formulas but since there is not that kind of IFRA regulated ingredients I assume that it hasn't changed so much. I didn’t have any expectations for this new release but I didn’t think it would be anything so special either. Interestingly, contrary to the opinions of many others, in my opinion, this version is more reminiscent of A III than A II. Notes of Rose and Lavender appear stronger than the other notes in the opening and in the middle, as they do in A III. Anniversary is like a weaker (not diluted though) and more wearable version of III and it can be over sprayed easily without being suffocating. Oud and the woody notes appear more like in A II since those are not so strong than in A III. If I'm thinking the different accords you can find more similarities with A III than with A II. This didn’t steal my heart as A III develops pretty much into this one within a few hours and it’s more unique but if you prefer a tamed version this may be for you. This short review is based on a sample and I'm not going to purchase a full bottle. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Top: Apricot and Bergamot Middle: Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Rose Base: Iris I just got this perfume few days ago and I can’t stop wearing it and I can’t stop smelling myself. This will be my easygoing everyday scent which I can pair with every outfit. It may sound boring but it’s not. Actually Jasmine Bonheur is delightfully different Jasmine scent. There is something very old fashioned in it but in a very beautiful way. Apricot is very soft and fragile, not juicy. The scent is a little bit dusty yet full of joy. It’s not like dry make up powdery, it’s rather hazy. It’s really difficult to find a Jasmine scent which makes my husband react like “woooow” but this did it. The longevity is at least one day. Btw this is not animalic in any kind of way, neither heady. This is classy and beautiful. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
🤍 Sweeter, softer, cozier and not so soapy version of OG edp. 🤍 Very versatile and easy to wear, I have always a bottle with me. 🤍 Not so crispy, cold and light than L’Eau - there are no citruses here. 🤍 A longevity is very good and a performance is a lot better than in OG edp - I have never been a big fan of that. Somehow it fades away so quickly. 🤍 Original parfum is still my favorite, I used to mix a very old vintage and quite new one, but it’s more for the special occasions. 🤍 If you haven’t tried this one I can tell that this flanker is a delightful surprise. Well blended gourmandish scent with many different notes which is impossible to separate. Coffee and milk are dominant notes and in the opening hint of some herbal fresh nuances from Davana. Despite of quite many notes this scent is linear and there is not any different levels and it doesn’t develop while wearing. This is not exactly my style of scent and it smells a little bit cloying, synthetic and a room scent like. Anyway I have to admit that I don’t like smell of coffee in perfumes (it’s more like latte here though) like the combination of dried fruits (which are not delicious or realistic at all here) with milky touch doesn’t work for me. I love all mentioned base notes but unfortunately there is a lack of quality here and none of them meet my expectations. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
