The perfect scent to pay homage to the amazing actress Giulietta Masina. This reminds me of a soap you might find on a counter of a mature classy woman’s bathroom sink. One that’s carved into some kind of intricate flower. This one’s for a woman who’s comfortable in her own skin. She’s not one to follow trends or try too hard to get noticed. Really well blended, but a little too short lived if I’m being honest. *Check out Le Strada or Nights of Cabiria,
This scent has such a humble, polite, comforting, reassuring quality. It radiates innocence and pure intentions. It feels like a person. It’s clean and distinct, while lasting a crazy long time on my skin. It’s been 12 hours, a full work day, and a shower and I’m still picking it up on my bare arm. Really, really, well done.
A+ for bottle originality. That’s the only thing I can get behind. This smells like an 80’s televangelist who gets caught cheating on his wife with an actress in a soap opera. Maybe like the magician at your birthday party (also in the 80’s) who hits on your mom. Loud, spicy, ambery, powdery full on assault on modern society. If someone wore this at work, I would try to work in a different part of the store.
Sprayed a card, walked out of the store, smelled it about 30 seconds later, walked right back in to write down the name because I forgot what reality was after my olfactory glands were embraced by an angel. Warm, soft, clean, comforting, totally worth adding to your collection. I want to smell this every day of my life. UPDATE: revisited the shop, sprayed more on a card, didn’t like it as much. UPDATE 2: Not unisex, not too exciting. If you caught a slight whiff in the air, yes…yes. It’s great. I wore one spray on my sleeve/wrist and it lasts on fabric for days. I also know now why my wife doesn’t like to wear Glossier You. Up close to the wearer it’s not very exciting or interesting. In the air though, on someone else (with the right chemistry), it’s really beautiful.
I LOVE when my wife wears this. I think its biggest accomplishment is that it is able to project really well, and last a long time without being cloying, powdery, ambery, or sweet. It’s a warm floral that makes me feel all fuzzy inside. It’s super clean, soft, and alluring.
One of my favorites my wife wears. Well blended and complex. Warm and crisp at the same time. Clean warm citrus floral. One that beckons you to lean closer. Nothing cloying or sweet. Wish the bottle was bigger, sturdier, and had a cap.
I LOOOOVE this on my wife. It draws me in with its warm, floral, fruity appeal. It’s a scent that gets into your nose and lowers your blood pressure. Nothing sweet or cloying here. It’s a scent you stop to take in. I just wish it was sold in a bigger bottle with a cap.
Beautiful bottle. Just wish I liked the scent more. It’s not bad though, I just don’t love the first 20 mins or so. It starts off a little harsh and the juniper/pine notes don’t feel very natural. Imagine if a pine tree accord behaved more like a violet/iris accord. It’s like that after awhile. It’s nice, but it’s probably my least favorite scent in my collection. I much prefer the pine notes in something like Agua Brava. The florals in this are what saves it. The bottle is why I’ll hang on to it and give it a chance to macerate. Everyone at work loves it. My wife’s not a fan, so I’ll probably sell it and try something else. UPDATE: I sold it to someone I work with. It smells great in the air. I used the money to buy…bites lip two more blind buys. Update: The blind buys were duds too. Sold them also. After that the next 2 blind buys with the money I got from selling THOSE were absolute perfection. (Sold Oscar De La Renta Pour Lui, and Sung Homme, and bought and LOVED Lapidus Pour Homme and Tous 1920 EDP the Origin)
This was the first iris type scent I ever smelled in a cologne. I couldn’t get over the possibility that someone would want to smell like makeup, let alone a man. I get it now, that creamy waxy iris note is one that has grown on me, but not enough to seek this one to wear myself. This is a little hollow smelling to my nose. It’s different and unique, but it’s not one that suits my taste.
Not exactly a huge departure from the original, but worth the price for sure. Like the mature older brother of Encre Noire that drops him off at the punk rock show and goes to the library at his university to read. Beautiful bottle and scent that punch way above their weight when it comes to the price. Warm, masculine, spicy, and refined. Great for formal occasions. Like an old antiquated church in the middle of the woods full of polished mahogany with a lingering smell of incense. More complex and original than anything you’re likely to find at a department store. Don’t wear this because you want compliments, wear it because it is art. It is a vision of a master perfumer. It is modern history. Overall a more socialized version of the original, but the original still blazed some trails in the community and deserves your respect! 10/10
