I don’t think I’ve had my nose on a prominent blueberry note before. This is really interesting.

its not what I would consider a blueberry tastes like, at least here in the UK. It’s more like a lip balm, but not cloying or artificial.

The citrus isn’t too sharp, but helps keep balance.

I would have sworn there was tobacco and maybe light patchouli here in the opening, there’s a suggestion of spice somewhere, I’m guessing it’s a mixture of the green notes and dry vetiver!

The green fresh bamboo is almost mouth watering. It adds a juicy fresh note which again keeps the fruits from getting too sweet.

Settling down, the blueberry comes and goes from the spotlight.

We’re at an hour in. I’ll update in a while.

Around 5 hours now - settled into a slightly sweet floral with soft and creamy undertones. Still get the blueberry note too.

Warm spicy citrus and ginger. Some sweetness and floral, with a cosy warmth holding it up. Patchouli is prominent and spicy, but not too sharp green.

If you like Layton you'll like this.

The name does not match the scent in my opinion, or is at least misleading.

Opening is a jammy, dark, almost anamalic rose paired with a metallic saffron twinge and either these combined, or on its own, a dark oud note.

A lovely rose scent, but I feel offput from what I was expecting.

3 hours later it is settling past the dark rose intensity and has throw the pepper into the mix. It is finally woody, spicy, and a little dry and aromatic. Not as creamy as I expected but quite clean and sophisticated. There is still depth and floral, but the transformation is quiet interesting!

6 hours in, it's a gentle amber with a soft aromatic wood.

Lots of facets to this one!

Spicy, woody, and aromatic citrus.

The dry down adds a lot of depth, with smoky incense and leather.

The patchouli here is very sharp and green. Quite aromatic.

The name is fitting as citrus does peek out through the depths.

Would be a good daily scent to replace a quick grab and go blue lavender.

A true powerhouse of grapefruit.

Tangy, tart, fresh, juicy, salty.

There's a crisp, watery aquatic that is almost like sea spray from waves, and a delicate fruity sweet note.

This is an amazing scent on a warm summer's day, if grapefruit is your thing that is.

An absolutely stunning fragrance. Amber done right.

Opening is a little aromatic and herbal with lavender, and a slight touch of citrus.

The warmth is apparent straight away. The resinous labdanum, benzoin and vanilla are ridiculously smooth and warm and create the perfect amber accord.

It is comforting and sensual and luxurious.

Terrible this has been discontinued. It's top 5 for sure. Using dupes now.

An incredible aromatic fougère.

Gentle citrus and spice in the opening but just supporting the wonderful aromatic herbal lavender.

Truly reminiscent of a barbershop.

Some depth supports the base with leather, musk, and tonka adding warmth.

Second time returning to this decant. It was warm autumn last time, it's frozen outside now.

I don't know if this one's for me. There's nothing bad about it per se, it's just not things that excite me.

I adore rose, and while it tries it's best to fight through the other notes, it's hard to clearly identify.

I don't know what's doing it, it could be nutty notes which are too heavy and fatty, the fruity note of pear which seems to be overripe, or the insane 46% concentration making it thick and heavy, but I just find this too cloying. Not in a screechy way, just in a thick, consuming way.

I'll give it a few hours and update.

6 hours in. I still find it almost too decadent.

It's sweet and rich and heavy, but there is a creamyness with ambergris, vanilla, and woods.

It's weaker than I expected for such an extrait.

Sweet, warm, cosy, and comforting.

Lactonic milk, sweet marshmallow, creamy vanilla, warm amber.

If you took By The Fireplace and removed some of the smokiness and spices then you'd be here.

This on also falls into my category of 'i don't really like gourmands but it this is good.'
