Nina, a perfume enthusiast from Finland, says that for her scents are a lifestyle and analysing them is a passion. Her reviews are poetic and comprehensive, guiding even inexperienced readers through the beauty and complexity of the perfumes she loves. I'm sure she wouldn't mind me calling her "the biggest Roja fan" as well. Her collection is vast and outstanding. Today she shares a bit about memories, finding peace in this fast paced content-creation space and more. Let's start the questionnaire!

### **1. What scent are you wearing today and what made you pick this one?**

First I was wearing The Fragrance [Amethyst Soul](/fragrances/74931/the-fragrance/amethyst-soul) because I’m writing the review of it. I started writing yesterday and need to finish today. At the gym I wore Fendi [Dolce Bacio](/fragrances/4445/fendi/dolce-bacio) and now I chose Penhaligon’s [Luna](/fragrances/1759/penhaligons/luna) for the evening, since I’m quite exhausted from training and needed something easy.

### **2. Do you remember the first time you started wearing perfume purposefully? To feel a certain way or to bring back a memory.**

I have been wearing perfumes since I was 8. I think I started to choose a perfume to boost my mood or to get a certain mood when I was a teenager, so a long, long time ago. Over the last two years I have been collecting the scents, which I used to have a long time ago and I love those memories, which they evoke. Some perfumes are like a time capsule, because of the ability to make certain scenes from my childhood, for example walking through the forest early in the morning.

### **3. The fragrance world is experiencing a gourmand boom, what's your opinion on this trend? Any predictions on where we'll be going next?**

Actually I’m excited now, since I never liked gourmands. Now, after all these years and when I’m not young anymore, I fell in love with some great gourmands. I finally love clear [Vanilla](/notes/spices/vanilla) scents as well. I’m afraid that the perfume industry starts to use more and more synthetics, but hopefully some houses will still concentrate on the quality. I don’t like at all, for example Ambroxan, which is very common nowadays. I wish we had a boom to make complex, vintage style perfumes, but I’m sure that will never happen because it’s technically impossible (IFRA rules and restrictions).

### **4. If you could pick 3 perfumes, for the rest of your life, what would they be at this moment in time?**

Well, today at this moment ROJA [Chypré Extraordinaire](/fragrances/93330/roja-dove/chypre-extraordinaire), Amouage [Guidance 46](/fragrances/33406/amouage/guidance-46) and Guerlain [Musc Outreblanc](/fragrances/39156/guerlain/musc-outreblanc).

### **5. Do you believe in "Signature scents"? Do you think it's truly possible to have one, if you're a part of this community?**

I believe if someone only has few scents, but personally, it’s absolutely impossible. If different kind of perfumes are my world, like my babies, how could I choose one over another, right?

### **6. Pick one perfume for men and one for women, that you think could be a safe gift option to someone not interested in perfumes (let's say, for Christmas).**

There is not a safe gift option, but I think there are many great choices in different kinds of private lines of designers. Niche can be too challenging. Ok, I will try: niche for men - Marrakech Imperial [Les Nuits de Marrakech](/fragrances/37521/marrakech-imperial/les-nuits-de-marrakech), designer for men - YSL [Caban](/fragrances/31162/yves-saint-laurent/caban), niche for women - Roja Parfums [Enigma Aoud](/fragrances/93284/roja-dove/enigma-aoud), designer for women - Fendi [La Baguette](/fragrances/16829/fendi/la-baguette).

### **7. What's your favourite thing about being part of this community? Favourite creators/reviewers?**

Positivity, people are nice to each other. It’s absolutely amazing to find like minded people and talk with them about everything. I wish I could live closer to many people in this community. There are so many, whose content I love and I'll just mention that I love more traditional posts, with pictures, or reels which are not so hectic. This world is full of noise, so I prefer peaceful content.
