Eau de parfum has become the default answer to "which one should I buy?", and for once the default is right. Glycerine is the quiet component: it stops the alcohol drying your skin and helps stabilise the formula.
None of this tells you whether a fragrance is any good. Composition explains behaviour, not beauty — a well-built eau de parfum can still be dull, and a cheap one can be brilliant.
