There is such a thing as perfume that is TOO long lasting and this falls into that category. When I first smelled this, I was deeply disturbed by how long it lasted, I disliked it. I came back to it almost a year later and realized that I like it- but only sprayed in a location away from my nose and 1 tiny spray.
It’s a creamy sandalwood and pear sauce, it’s aggressively beautiful. Never smelled anything like it
I really wanted to love this… my husband loved it on me but it sadly made me nauseous after a few hours. It’s a bomb of a perfume, everyone will be able to smell you and you will probably never get this smell out of your clothes. I envy people for whom this works because it’s a powerful creation.
I'm wearing Guidance on one arm and Guidance 46 on the other. Guidance is very Bisch. It immediately reminds me of Encelade, but with more depth and sweetness (though nowhere near as sweet as the Extrait version). I quickly start to pick up on a sort of foot-cheese, sweaty off note, which doesn't put me off exactly but I can see why I would deter others. The sillage is giving me pretty perfume while the up close sniff is sweaty jock-strap (none of that in the Extrait). I like this, it's not my thing, as quite honestly I'd rather wear Encelade, it's more edgy, but this smells opulent and performs very well, of course. The Extrait does seem smoother and more refined, but it also lacks the hook. It's way sweeter and more incensey. I wish they'd upped the weirdness rather than the sweetness.
Absolute vile. The only thing this fragrance is gonna guide me to is the nearest window where I can actually get some air. Cloying milky, vanillic fruity fragrance that does not live up at all to its hype. Don't come for this one thinking it will be a cute osmanthus - sandalwood fragrance. After a million scrubbing it smells exactly similar to Nobody Knows by Zara. Don't even bother trying.
Feminine leaning FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I got what I was waiting: something totally different than a floral fruity fragrance would normally (if there is some “normal” but anyway) be. I just was thinking that I really don’t know how it is in heaven but I’m quite sure that this is the scent of heaven. This perfume creates so amazing captivating, divine and fluffy bubble around me while wearing this and it is easy to forget the sorrows in life. This stays in the clothes for a couple of days and it’s easy to overspray this since you are totally in your own world enjoying the beauty of this juice and you just want it more and more. THE REVIEW AFTER WEARING: More detailed review of this “Happy Mood -scent” (like I call this) - this is not a paid hype even if it sounds like that though 😅 This perfume has an amazing power to change a sad and melancholy feeling into happiness, a stress into a relieved mind and a sorrow into hope. It’s so fluffy, uplifting and joyous that you start to smile. 😌 Guidance is warm, mouthwatering fruity and juicy: notes comes from Pear in the opening and Osmanthus in the middle which smells like a soft and sensuous Apricot. 🤤 In the same time there is a fresh airiness: Hazelnut, Frankincense and Saffron are balancing sweet notes with savoury, fresh and earthy nuances. The divine aspect comes from the flowers: Rose and Jasmine Sambac brings sophisticated touch to this blend. The base of Guidance is really milky, soft and warm - Akigalawood and Ambergris create the structure and polished core to the juice. Vanilla is done so well here and in this case it means that this is not “Vanilla scent”. The whole perfume is masterfully blended. * Top Notes: Pear, Frankincense (Olibanum), Hazelnut. * Heart Notes: Saffron, Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus. * Base Notes: Cistus (Labdanum), Sandalwood, Akigalawood, Ambergris, Vanilla Guidance is projecting like a beast and a sillage is strong. This perfume makes a huge scent bubble where you are inside. 🫧 It feels like walking on the clouds. ☁️ This is a great perfume if you like to spray on clothes still it smells same on clothes. This doesn’t need necessarily skin to shine in the right way. And the scent stays all the day in your skin and many days in your clothes. The scent of happiness, the genius complexity and talented way to use fruity and gourmand notes This perfume has an amazing power to change a sad and melancholy feeling into happiness, a stress into a relieved mind and a sorrow into hope. For me it is much more multifaceted and the complexity in it keeps it absolutely attractive and somewhat elegant compared to the scents which are "only gourmands". Elegant here doesn't mean fragile lady like elegance but something else than edible dessert like concoction. In the same time and despite of all that juicy fruity aspect, this is not only fruity scent, not at all. Linear fruity scents are not interesting enough for me and linear, clearly gourmands are not for me. Guidance has those both accords combined with the notes which all together create something utterly unique and addictive. * Top Notes: Pear, Frankincense (Olibanum), Hazelnut. * Heart Notes: Saffron, Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus. * Base Notes: Cistus (Labdanum), Sandalwood, Akigalawood, Ambergris, Vanilla Guidance is projecting like a beast and a sillage is strong. It's either love or hate and not a safe blind buy. If I'm thinking the latest Amouage releases, this and King Blue are absolutely the best ones. Can't wait to try an extract version of this one, I know I love it. Thank you for reading and if you want to follow me on IG: @ninamariah_perfumes
Finally tried this out yesterday, I've been curious for a while and was frankly a bit skeptical about the hype. Was I wrong though. I don't know what is, but there's something that I find very compelling about this perfume, playful but not in a juvenile way. So much so that I keep sniffing my skin, where the scent still softly lingers over 12 hours later in a cozy delicate drydown, and am amazed at the projection on the paper strip, where the full symphony of notes still fills a room. All the fuss about smelling like lady parts is sort of true in the way I think some jasmine fragrances tend to do. On that matter, in the first minute after spritzing it reminded me a bit of Mugler's Womanity, probably due to the ambergris note (caviar accord in Womanity), but it passed quickly evolving in a beautiful and like I said earlier compelling, delicately fruity floral composition, fresh and airy despite its room filling tendencies; I'm surprised to like it because while I do room filling, I'm usually not really keen on fresh and airy, leaning instead more towards dark and torbid, or stuffy. All in all I like it a lot, and I really really really wish I didn't because the price is a definite no no for me.
