I live in Brazil and have to pay crazy money for niche stuff—almost $200 for Montale and $350 or more for Penhaligon's. So this Christmas, I am traveling to Mexico to my mom's house. I ordered stuff from Jomashop to be delivered there. I ordered Xerjoff Alexandria II Anniversary, Silver Oud, and Interlude by Amouage. Since I can't wait to smell them, I just bought this one. Ethnic Oud should be a dupe for Interlude Man, so now I am smelling Ethnic Oud, and it is really good. Magical. So I am happy because I guess Interlude is going to be even more incredible. I use Arab dupes to back up my niche fragrances, so if I want to smell like African Leather by Memo on a Sunday morning, I just put on Afro Leather by Maison Alhambra and save my original Memo. If I want to wear Tuscan Leather while I wear shorts and a T-shirt to drive my kids to school, I just use Toscano Leather by Maison Alhambra and save the real one for a night out. Sometimes I buy a well-rated Arab dupe to see if I would like the original. I don’t like to waste money on decants because, as I said, here in Brazil, prices are silly, and I can buy a Maison Alhambra for the price of a couple of niche decants... Ethnic Oud is GOOD! Approved!
