Millesime Imperial is one of those fragrances you so badly want to dislike because of how simplistic and overtly overpriced it is, and yet there’s something brilliant about it; which is a common theme among many Creeds. It’s just such a straightforwardly gorgeous fruity marine scent done so well. The vague sweet fruitiness combined with an array of citrus pairs beautifully with this rush of a faded marine accord, as though you’re not standing by the sea but rather looking at it in the distance. There’s a slight saltiness, and that iconic creamy-fresh woodiness in the base of most Creed scents which we all know and love. As I said I don’t want to like this, the price is absurd for how simple and weak it is, and yet I know I’ll end up buying a bottle at some point because it’s just lovely. It’s not the best Creed by a long shot, but it just scratches that itch on a warm summer’s day.
Oh my word!!! This is a splendid fresh fruity/musk scent...one of my favourite combo's. Every time I think there's good alternatives to Creed fragrances out there I realise that they pale in comparison. I tried MI a while ago and loved it. Then during the summer I managed to get hold of Love & Luck by Ed Hardy which from memory I thought was a very good cheap version. I love the Ed Hardy fragrance but when I've tried MI recently I instantly smelled the difference. There's certain similarities sure but MI is another triumph from Creed in my opinion and I will definitely add to my collection at some point.
Sunny Day in Paradise
When I close my eyes, I imagine myself taking a dip in the cold sea in a sunny paradise. Coming out of the water and feeling the breeze on my face, I head towards the sand to drink my drink. That's the feeling! Perfect.
I was eager to try this perfume because of the combination of its notes. I had never felt this more "salty" aspect in a perfume. A very good perfume, I really liked this more marine and fruity touch. Right at the top, that salty sea aroma stands out, accompanied by citrus notes of lemon, bergamot and mandarin. During the drydown and evolution, the aroma remains clean, already pulling towards a much more sophisticated side due to the musk and the iris note. I was really impressed, I really liked its proposal and its balance.
Testing it in my decant here, the performance is actually "ok", considering the Creed house. But let's be honest, it could be better. Projection of 1 hour and fixation of around 6-8 hours, with a few good sprays. It really is a very different marine/citrus perfume in my perception. It is definitely worth trying.
